MUSICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCES

Borne in Trento (Italy), Alex studied at the Conservatory “F. A. Bonporti” in his native city underFrancesco Bertoldi, where he qualified with the degrees of piano performance and piano teacher in2002.He attended several master classes, the most important are: “The piano pedagogy and the musicalformation” (Teacher Annibale Rebaudengo – Milan Conservatory), “Accompanist course for oldkeyboard music” teached by the famous concertist Emilia Fadini (Cremona University – Musicologydepartment); “Vocalism cours, diction and interpretation of Jazz” (Cheryl Porter).

He is a founder member of the Gospel-spiritual Choir “Smile”, an innovative and important projectbringing this particular kind of music to the public in Northern Italy.

His experience as an accompanist began at an early age, and his experience includesaccompanying: soloists, singers, choirs, instrumentalists, chamber groups (Music school “IlPentagramma” – Tesero), organ-liturgic repertoire in festivals and national competitions (FestivalTrentino Alto Adige – National competition in Riva del Garda). He is a qualified piano teacher andhas taught for several years in the Music school “Il Pentagramma” – Tesero (Italy).

Several of his students passed with distinction the graduation exams of piano, musical theory and harmony in the Trinity College of London and the associated board of the royal schools of music.He formed part of a flute & piano duo for more than 10 years.

One of the most important collaboration as opera coach and accompanist is the work with thefamous italian bass Carlo Colombara, (video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHlbHV7PdSQ ) with the catalan tenor Jaume Aragall in his Masterclasses and with the argentinian tenor RaulGimenez in Barcelona.

Piano Master classes in Barcelona as auditor with: K.Merle, A.Weiss, A.Jasinsky (teacher ofK.Zimerman), M.Zabaleta, L.Mosca, E.Moguilevsky, E.Krizos, J.Mora, V.Bronevetzky, G.Díaz Jerez,Mirabela Dina, Bruno Canino and Nora Doallo. With conductors Jordi Mora and Elio Orciuolo andwith Montserrat Caballé in Zaragoza.

In 2010, together with the joung georgian Soprano Ilona Mataradze won the 1st prize at thecompetition “Cicle de tardor dels CMU Penyafort.Montserrat 2010” organized by the university ofBarcelona.

Between 2011 – 2012 Alex has been working constantly with “Atelier de l’Ópera” in Barcelona,where he played in several gala concerts and in 7 public performances of whole “La Traviata”accompained at the piano.His artistic coaching activity increases while collaboration with the Hungarian/Italian SopranoDonna Reinhard with whom he created the Wesendonk Duo and organized concerts, conferencesand continued his coaching and corepetition studies for professional singers.For more info: http://wesendonckduo.com/

The ´Wesendonk Duo´ has been scheduled to roll out some recordings with Wagner famous Ariasof Tristan und Isolde, and Die Walküre, Tannhäuser, including the Wesendonk Lieder Cycle of Songsfor Soprano and Piano, and during 2013 the Wesendonck Duo has performed several concerts andcourses for the bicentenary “Verdi & Wagner”.

In Torredembarra (Tarragona) during the festival “Pianissimo” , masterclass with Mº Mark Hastings(Boss of repetiteurs/coaches in Liceu Theatre BCN), Mack Sawyer (Repetiteur at Teatro Real ofMadrid) and the international concert pianist Diana Baker.

In Barcelona Masterclass with David Gowland (Artistic Director and Repetiteur at Covent Garden inLondon) and Eric Halfvarson (well known international Bass).

May 2015: Accompanist-répetitéur during a Singer Masterclass in Barcelona with Mº Elio Orciuolo(Conductor) organised by Studio Opera Company (S.O.C.-BCN)

Alex currently lives between Barcelona and Sitges where he works as accompanist, piano teacher.
