22nd Annual Roughneck Chili & BBQ Cook-off &

20th Annual Oil City Classic Car Show

The Central Texas Oil Patch Museum hosts the 22nd Annual Roughneck

Chili & BBQ Cook-off and the 20th Annual Oil City Car Show on

Saturday, April 2nd. Cooks from all over Texas will enter to compete

for best Chili, Beans, Brisket, Ribs and Chicken. The Car Show will

feature classic cars, hot rods, trucks and motorcycles, which will be on

display at the Thump Pavilion. Entry forms are available at the Luling

Area Chamber of Commerce or online at www.oilmuseum.org.

Friday, April 1st

8:00am-10:00pm – Registration 7:00pm – Friday Night Open Turn In

Saturday, April 2nd

8:00am – Registration Opens 9:00am – Car Show Cars in Place

10:00am – Registration Closes 10:30am – Head Cooks’ Meeting, BBQ, Chili, Beans 11:00am – Car Show Judging Begins 11:00am – Showmanship Participants’ Meeting

Angler Education & Kid Fish

City of Luling Parks & Recreation will be

hosting the Angler Education and Kid Fish to

take place at Zedler Mill on April 3, 2011 from

2pm to 5pm. This free event is designed for

children ages 5 and up. Learn the basics of

fishing ethics, safety, knot tying and casting

through hands-on activities. Earn an angler

certificate upon completion. Fishing packs for

each child and fun door prizes raffled at 5pm.

No fishing license is required for persons 17 and

under and bait will be provided. Limited loaner

equipment or bring your own. Adults must

accompany children. Dress for an afternoon of
