Principals Note Welcome to the newsletter for week 7. I am away from school today with a group of year 6 students from several MSSN schools, including Yagan Sloane from Lue. They are attending the Young Leader s Event in Sydney which helps them develop aspirations and leadership skills. Thank you to Mrs Knott for supporting the senior class in my absence. Debating Workshops On Wednesday, I will be taking selected students to participate in debating workshops in Bathurst. The workshops will help the students refine their debating skills in preparation for our inter school competitions later this year. Permission notes were sent home last week for this event. Mrs Cowan will teach the senior class in my absence. Swimming Our very best wishes go with Yagan Sloane on Thursday who will be representing Lue Public School at the Western Swimming trials in Dubbo. Principal Award Winners Congratulations to our first Principal Award winners in Term 1. A student needs to have received 5 merit awards to receive a Principals Award so we are very pleased to see how hard they have been working. Well done to Yagan Sloane, Oskar Sander, Alex Edwards, Reece Webb, Holly Webb and Kaspar Sander. Green Slip Draw The green slip draw for week 7 was made this morning. Congratulations to Charli Statham, Alex Edwards & Brantley Carkeek. Charli will have a free choice pick from the Lue Dollar boxes and each student will receive a merit certificate and ice block at lunch. Homework Well done to the following students who completed and submitted homework last week: Yagan Sloane, Oskar Sander, Reece Webb, Ellie Statham, Cooper Carkeek, Tyler Charters, Kaspar Sander, Holly Webb, Charli Statham, Fiona Webb, Lou Smith, Aliza Butler, Amelia Murdoch & Scout Smith. All students will receive a merit and a Lue Dollar which can be used on Friday afternoons to swap for items in the Lue Dollar boxes. Attendance and Absence Notes Our attendance records are all electronic now and all school attendance is monitored externally by the department. If your child is absent from school for any reason, could you please send in a completed absence slip on their return to school so we can record their absence details. Absence slips are attached to this newsletter. Did you know? If students miss as little as eight days in a school term, by the end of primary school they will have missed a year of education. Remember if you want to discuss anything about your childs education, our door is always open. Well done to Yagan Sloane, Oskar Sander, Alex Edwards, Reece Webb, Holly Webb and Kaspar Sander. Those who volunteered in the original Marches were truly the ultimate volunteers, as they were well aware of the casualties at Gallipoli, but still they volunteered knowing that 1 in 5 may die, and 2 of the other 4 may be badly physically wounded, and who knows how badly all survivors were emotionally wounded. We continue in both war and peace to rely heavily on volunteers to make our communities suc
