    Holiday homework' – words that don’t go together in child’s dictionary. But, it’s

    a way to inculcate sense of responsibility and bring out the creativity and

    enhance vocabulary at leisure. Whether it is a science project on collecting

    different varieties of leaves or an English assignment on writing an essay on the

    vacation trip, holiday homework has many benefits.

    Children develop a sense of punctuality by turning their work in on time.

    Now that we are convinced that holiday homework helps our children, we list a

    few ways in which you can help him complete his homework in time.

    General Instructions

    Kindly send the homework in the first week when the school reopens after

    the summer break.

    Holiday homework has to be done neatly and in good handwriting under the

    parental guidance.

    A schedule/routine must be made for him/her as practice improves writing

    and learning skills.

    “Readers are Leaders” so inculcate reading habits in your child. Encourage

    your child to read newspaper, G.K book and current affairs to update him /

    herself.

    Extracurricular activities like sports must be encouraged to instill discipline,

    sporting spirits, and channelize energies constructively.

    Spend quality time with your child engaging him / her in activities based on

    enhancing his /her powers of observation and imagination.

    Fix up a time table for your ward to organize his/her daily routine like,

    watching television, playing with friends and studying etc.

    Make your child responsible by assigning some of the household

    responsibilities to him/her like, watering plants, arranging the dining table,

    organizing his/her room and cupboards, fill the empty water bottles and put

    them in refrigerator.

    Above mentioned guidelines will help your child to become a smart and an

    active learner.

    1. Activity- Take the leaves of following herbs, shrubs and climber. Press these leaves inside an old

    thick book. When at will be dried paste them in a half punch paper with the help of fevicol. Cover the

    punch paper with cellophane.

    2. Activity- Take out small evergreen plant with root from the soil. Remove its soil with the help of

    unused toothbrush, press it in an old thick book. When it will be dried paste the plant in half punch

    paper. write the parts of the plant in the punch paper an cover it with cellophane.

    sheet.
