Lowell officers with staff from the Lowell court division and Lowell Elementary ran the Lowell portion of the annual Special Olympics Torch Run.
Isaac Chapman, President of Lowell Elementary's student council, initiated the planting of a new tree on the playground of Lowell Elementary. He saw a need for more shade on the playground, and with the help of an anonymous donor, he accomplished the task of acquiring a tree. A new maple tree was planted on the south section of the playground. Way to go Isaac, the students of Lowell Elementary will enjoy the shade of the new tree in years to come!
Congratulations to the winners of the Mudtown Days Talent Show!

And Ask! If you are not sure that your project requires a permit, then call the inspector and ask. Laws and regulations can change from time to time and it is your responsibility to make yourself aware of the ones that will apply to you and your situation. Several things that did not require permits in the past may now require them. Permits and inspections do not necessarily mean that the job is going to cost more. What it does mean is that the work will be done to current codes. If you fail to obtain proper permits for your work it may keep you from being able to sell your home or affect an insurance claim, if a loss were to happen.
Permits = a safe environment for your home and workplace.
Our friendly Contractor Services staff is here to answer any questions. Remember the only dumb question is the one you did NOT ask!
