Lord Fairfax Community College Study Abroad Program A Semester with Mester 12 June 2017 - 7July2017 Spanish Spanish 201 and 202 combined (6 credits) The following services are included in the program fee: 80 hours of Spanish immersion classes: Four classroom hours per day, Monday through Friday. Round trip transfers by private bus from Madrid Barajas International Airport to Salamanca. Welcome reception and farewell dinner. An orientation program in Salamanca consisting of a meeting with a Mester staff member who will provide local area information and walking tours of the city. Housing in Salamanca: Two students per host family, or in a double room. Three meals per day provided 7 days per week, plus cleaning of the room and one weekly laundry service while in Salamanca (additional washes may be arranged with the host-family/residence for an extra charge). Supplement in single room: 3€ per day. Day excursions by charter bus to: Ávila, Segovia, and Madrid. A cultural program that includes a variety of weekly activities and visits to local attractions, as well as cooking and dance classes and/or sports for the duration of the program. Course in Spanish life and culture consisting of weekly lectures on art, history, literature, cinema and /or meetings with local experts. Access to the student computer lab located at the Mester Center with free Internet access. Local medical insurance coverage, which includes coverage for accidents while traveling between locations and during scheduled activities in Spain. Courses Offered: SPA 201 & 202 (6 credits) Additional Excursions: Additional weekend excursions will be provided by Mester. Cost per trip will vary by destination. Prices include transfer services, group coordinator, 3 star hotels on a double/ triple basis with breakfast included. Prerequisites: Extremely good work ethic. Overall GPA of 3.0 and a 3.0 in SPA 101 & 102. Two faculty member recommendations Program Cost: $2,025 (Program Fee) + LFCC Credits + Airfare + Travel Insurance + Personal Expenses. *Excluding personal expenses approximately $5,500. *All Students must have a health insurance policy. Dates to remember: 31 January 2017:Nonrefundable $500.00 deposit due. 15 March 2017: 50% of tuition due. No refunds after this date. 28 April 17: Remaining amount due.
