Not an optionthis year, any student who scores a I or II on any of the tests will need to do a re-test of that test on the dates scheduled below:Science- May 24th Reading- June 1st Math- June 2nd and 3rd

Achievement Level Ranges- IV, III, II, or I

IV- Students performing at this level consistently perform in a superior manner clearly beyond that required to be proficient at grade-level work. III- Students performing at this level consistently demonstrate mastery of grade-level subject matter and skills and are well prepared for the next grade level. II- Students performing at this level demonstrate inconsistent mastery of knowledge and skills that are fundamental in this subject area and that are minimally sufficient to be successful at the next grade level. I- Students performing at this level do not have sufficient mastery of knowledge and skills in this subject area to be successful at the next grade level.

What is a wavier?

A wavier can be given to any student in grades 3-5 who have not met promotion requirements. (Scoring a Level III or IV and/or passing all core subjects).

What is a wavier meeting?

The wavier committee will meet to review the student’s profile, including student’s work samples, grades, and test scores. After the meeting the parents will be notified by the principal of the committee’s decision.Please come and have your voice be heard!

Get your child in the habit of eating a healthy breakfast before schoolMake sure your child has a set bedtime, and gets plenty of restComplete homework daily with your child.Read with your child nightly.Ask higher level comprehension questions about reading material.Practice basic facts and problem solving skills.

What can we do the night before the test?

RelaxEat a healthy meal before going to bed.Set Out Clothes & Needed Items for the Next Day BEFORE Going to BedGet a good night’s sleep.

What can I do on test day?

Prepare a healthy breakfast for your child (low on sugars); No snack time, so be sure it is something that will “stay” with your childMake sure your child arrives to school on time.Encourage your child to do and be their best.Make sure your child dresses comfortably (bring a jacket in case it gets cold in the room)Avoid triggers and conflicts, if at all possible
