On this special day, we honor all the dedicated pathfinders and their leaders who from time to time unselfishly give their time, talents, and effort without payment. These young people love God and show it in their actions. We celebrate Christ with our pathfinders today under the theme, “Mission To The City” with Evangelist Peter Joseph and the entire church membership. In this vein, let us be reminded of their song, “Oh we are the pathfinders strong, the servants of God are we. Faithful as we march along, in kindness, truth and purity...” But what is a pathfinder? A pathfinder is a boy or girl between the ages of 10 – 15, who learns the ways of becoming a true and useful Christian. Their growth is a gradual process that is determined by many factors. Factors such as: adventure and responsibility. We consider ideals and goals toward which every boy and girl who wears the badge should be moving. A Pathfinder is respectful and reverent. He respects those in authority and worships the God who created the heavens and the earth. He treats with reverence that which God has made holy. He is careful to honor the Sabbath and he carefully protects the Holy Bible. What is a pathfinder? A pathfinder is that boy or girl who is concerned about the needs of others. He has learned that deeds of kindness bring their own reward. The pathfinder follows the example of the Good Samaritan and puts the stranger at ease. A pathfinder is courageous and persistent. He is not discouraged by the difficulties of life. He is not looking for only the easy things to do. He mobilizes his body and forces his mental powers to achieve the challenges of life. He does not stop until he reaches his goal. The pathfinder is honest and straightforward. He is trustworthy and dependable. A pathfinder is courteous and attentive. He is distinguished by his politeness and thoughtfulness. He is physically fit and is eager to care for his body temple. But most of all a pathfinder is one who looks forward to the return of Jesus Christ. His march is on the path of eternal life. So, why celebrate Pathfinder Day? We do so, because the young people need it. It is not only our day it is their day too. It is a special day, a day to spread the love of God, to the church and the community. WORLD PATHFINDER DAY

World Pathfinder

Day is celebrated globally

on September 20, 2014.

Faithful as we march along, in kindness, truth and purity...”

But what is a pathfinder?

A pathfinder is that boy or girl who is concerned about

the needs of others.

Let us celebrate with our pathfinders today in ‘Mission To The City.’ -Pastor Kent Price, Youth Director
