Location for our Film ‘Haunted’ The location for our film is based in an old Georgian House, situated in Slimbridge Gloucester, which is currently going under a lot of restoration to be able to restore and all its features. We have chosen this location for our film, because we think it is the perfect setting to film in and fits in with the themes and conventions conveying the genre of our film action/thriller. The photo below is a long shot of the back of the house in the garden. This is where the opening scene for our film takes place, picturing them in an up close shot when breaking into the house.

Location for our Film Haunted

The location for our film is based in an old Georgian House, situated in Slimbridge Gloucester, which is currently going under a lot of restoration to be able to restore and all its features.

The medium shot below is of the side of the garden situated to the right of the house. This is the area in the opening scene to where the two teenagers are first shot. We think this is very stereotypical (for a break in) due to the fact the two teenagers are wanting to sneak into the house, so the big general stereotype would be for no other way for the teenagers to sneak in through a window (not the front door).

In this medium shot we have pictured one of the hallways featured in the 3rd scene. Me and rose both wanted to included many shots of the hallways, as we feel as if it conveyed a feeling of claustrophobia and entrapment, which usually conveys the actors feeling of them only being able to go one of two ways; down or forward along corridor, if they have no escape if danger occurs in front of them, only to turn back to get away from anything that could be chasing them.

The darkness that the corridor also brings portrays a feeling of danger, we usually connote this as being scary and risky to be within as we can not see anything it also instantly makes us think that there might be something hidden within the darkness also to what we normally would be able to see for if it was in broad daylight.

This medium shot pictured, is featured in scene 3 of our film haunted. We have used this shot because we both think that it conveys the age of the house from the spiraling stairs. It also ups the anticipation of the audience, as we cant actually see what is around the corner of the stairs hiding away from us.
