Living comfort - currently the topic of the day
for many people – has always been a challenge
for RENSON®. We aim to create a healthy indoor
environment for your home, with added value in
terms of visual, thermal and acoustic comfort.
The new products that result from our efforts
are integrated into powerful concepts such
as the Healthy Building, Healthy Domestic,
Healthy Veranda and Healthy School Concept®.
We believe that a building should refl ect the
rhythm of the people who live and work in it.
Evolution and change are eternal. It takes
a real passion for healthy living to keep up
with the times and to remain innovative in
the face of changing needs. Paul RENSON.

Entrepreneurship, innovation and
sustained growth are what RENSON® stands for.
Creating added value in the past,
present and future.
5
RENSON® bases its skill on a century of dedication. Dedication means a
continuous concern for people with changing needs but with one common
goal: to live in a healthy and comfortable indoor environment.
The requirements of designers, architects and residents are the enduring
concerns of the RENSON® company.
Starting from an aluminium processing company...
In 1909, Polydore RENSON started com-mercial construction activities in Belgium. This was followed in 1919 by the offi cial founding of the RENSON® company.

Optimism and progress prevail after the Second World War.
We build a bathroom in our home, which we heat,

Living comfort at RENSON® stems from a broad vision of the entire world -
the world as it now is and as it will be.
Sustainability is the feature of climate concern that transcends time and the individual.
But sustainability does not, of course, pass by the world and people of today. RENSON® works
every day to create even more well-designed, effi cient and sustainable comfort solutions,
each adapted to the situation. These are solutions where the construction industry – those who
have to implement them – and the residents – those who will live in them – recognise the hand
of the master. Only the best is good enough for those who want vital, healthy air, and you expect
the best from specialists.
RENSON® has for a century guaranteed essential living and working comfort.
...to a knowledge based company
RENSON® creates innovative concepts and products for a healthy
and comfortable indoor environment in homes and buildings,
with minimal energy use and an attractive design.

The past decade has seen an alarming deterioration in internal air quality. This has
been brought about by better home insulation and lower energy consumption, making
it harder for moisture and dangerous substances to be removed from the building.
Modern ventilation systems make controlled and optimised ventilation possible.
The supply of fresh air and the removal of used air are perfectly regulated.
Firstly, controlled ventilation looks after your health and, secondly, it means
considerable savings for your energy bill.
Our new generation of ventilation systems provides optimal comfort when it comes
to air, insulation, aesthetics and acoustics.

The fi rst louvres were designed to protect bells and carillons in bell towers from rain and
wind, without distorting the sound.
Today, louvres have evolved to be able to help protect against rain, noise, birds, vermin
and in some cases even air! In other cases louvres have been designed specifi cally to
allow a specifi c airfl ow. The blades are packed with inorganic mineral wool to improve
their sound-damping qualities. They are designed to offer an aesthetic solution in wall
applications where sound-damping is very important.

Structural sunprotection consists of extruded aluminium profi les which can be used as
sunprotection, façade cladding or visual barriers.
Structural sunprotection counters overheating.
It stops the sunrays before they come into contact with the glazed surfaces.
Undesired heat and blinding light do not enter the building.
This means no glare or annoying refl ections in TV or computer screens.
Moreover, if the heat is kept out, there is no need for cooling; so the energy savings are signifi cant.
Visual contact with the environment is maintained.
The view outside is important, and it is respected.
Last but not least, structural sunprotection often brings aesthetic added value to the building.

Natural light is essential for human beings. It is crucial for our wellbeing and is also an
ideal source of illumination. But that light can be very harsh and have its downsides:
hothouse effect, faded furniture, glare, refl ections in TV and computer screens.
Light comfort.
Sunprotection offers the best solution when it comes to optimal thermal comfort; warm
enough in winter, pleasantly cool in summer. Sunprotection also provides optimal visual
comfort: suffi cient natural daylight in the room, while retaining visual contact with the
natural environment.
Well-designed sunprotection also makes a positive contribution to the energy
consumption of the whole building. If the heat is kept out, there is no need for cooling.

The aluminium blades in the continuous louvre system can also be used to form tailor-made
preassembled louvre grilles. In that way, the grilles and the blade wall can be matched
aesthetically.
Louvre grilles are available in all forms, sizes, RAL colours, and as permanent or lockable
versions. Numerous variations are also possible, such as grilles with movable blades, sliding
panels, special night-cooling grilles, fi re-resistant louvres, burglar-resistant louvres and
anti-vandalism louvres in steel.
Our new generation of ventilation grilles, available in every conceivable shape and colour,
provides optimal comfort when it comes to air, insulation, aesthetics and acoustics.

RENSON® recognises the special needs of an environment where many people come together.
Each indoor environment requires its own approach. That’s why RENSON® designed
Healthy Concepts, each meeting specifi c needs.
Our own homes are usually unoccupied during the day. Healthy air, acoustics and ease
of maintenance are their most important features. RENSON® has translated these into the
Healthy Domestic Concept®, Healthy Passivehouse Concept® and Healthy Veranda Concept®.
The RENSON® ‘Healthy Building Concept®’ was developed for industrial applications involving
a combination of natural ventilation and sunprotection.
RENSON® also thinks along with its customers: our solutions are not only healthy and energy
effi cient, but also easy to install and maintenance-friendly. RENSON® takes both the practical
requirements of the builder and the comfort of the occupants into consideration.

Healthy Building Concept®
Each environment has its own needs. The Healthy Building Concept® is a natural solution that
guarantees a pleasant working environment.
It stands for healthy, energy-effi cient and environmentally-aware building.
Thanks to natural basic ventilation, nightcooling and sunprotection, overheating is prevented and
good air quality assured, all without energy-devouring or environment-unfriendly technologies.

Healthy Passivehouse Concept®
Our home lives with the seasons. In winter, we keep the cold out.
In spring, we cherish the fi rst rays of the sun. In summer, we seek out the coolness inside.
In autumn, we shelter from the raw wind and pouring rain. With its Healthy Domestic Concept®,
RENSON® keeps us comfortable all year round.
The Healthy Domestic Concept® is based on three fundamental elements: continuous and
controlled ventilation, intensive night ventilation, and sunprotection for glass façades.
It guarantees healthy air, no draughts, no noise, protection from overheating and protection from
direct sunlight where we want it. It is also characterised by low energy consumption and
an attractive design.
These technologies are taken even further in the Healthy Passivehouse Concept®.

Healthy Veranda Concept®
A veranda/conservatory is an additional living space in your home that really brings in
the garden. RENSON® developed the Healthy Veranda Concept® so you could enjoy
a healthy and comfortable indoor environment in your veranda all year round.
This total comfort solution combines outdoor sunprotection with the supply of fresh
air and the extraction of humid and warm air. It is RENSON®’s answer to specifi c
conservatory problems such as overheating in summer and excess moisture and
condensation in winter.
With its Healthy Veranda Concept®, RENSON® brings you longer and fuller enjoyment
of your garden.
37
Our home is not alone. We are not alone. We live together, people were here before us and
people will be here after us. What we do affects others now and in the future, as does what we
fail to do. We determine now what kind of home our children and grandchildren will have.
RENSON® uses the experience we have today for the solutions of tomorrow, so our children
and grandchildren have breathing space as well. Schools, hospitals and retirement homes
are places where many people come together, away from their homes. They should have the
same comfort that we consider so essential. That’s why RENSON® has expanded its Healthy
Concepts to form the Healthy School Concept®, Healthy Hospital Concept®, and Healthy
Outdoor Concept®.
And RENSON® is looking beyond our home, across space and time.
Sustainability will become even more important in the future. A healthy indoor environment is
the all-round basis of a healthy climate. It is a continuous concern for our wellbeing that drives
innovation at RENSON®.
Continuous innovations inspired by health
38
RENSON® develops comfort solutions for every situation where people come together.
A healthy indoor environment is essential at school as well.
The air quality in classrooms can often be quite bad: too little ventilation, overheating, etc.
The more students in the class, the more CO2 and air pollution.
Children who work in unhealthy air become tired faster and cannot concentrate.
Their eyes can become tired and irritated; they can have problems with itches, rashes,
blocked noses and neck pain.
RENSON®’s Healthy School Concept® is a natural solution that creates a pleasant school
environment with good air quality, all day and all year long.
Healthy School Concept®
39
Healthy Hospital Concept®
Every building has specifi c requirements for air quality.
The indoor environment is of vital importance in hospitals and care centres.
It plays an important role in patient recovery.
Hospital air often contains moulds, bacteria and viruses caused and distributed
primarily by poor ventilation and overheating.
CO2 accumulates as a result of too little ventilation in rooms and corridors,
creating all kinds of problems for staff, patients and visitors.
RENSON® has translated its expertise into the Healthy Hospital Concept® to tackle
the particular problem of a healthy indoor environment in hospitals and care centres.
40
Healthy Outdoor Concept®
Warm sunny days are appreciated to the full on the terrace.
But too much sun can quickly become unpleasant.
RENSON® created its Healthy Outdoor Concept® solutions for outdoor living -
special sunprotection designs that regulate the amount of sunlight make outdoor living
pleasant as well.
And the indoor environment also benefi ts from the additional shading.
The Healthy Outdoor Concept® is characterised by advanced sunprotection
technologies that guarantee many years of satisfaction.
Their modern designs and functional shapes make screens and louvre walls
welcome guests on any terrace or balcony.

RENSON® creates solutions for living comfort.
Whether you’re at work, at home, chilling out,
playing, resting ... the space you’re in must be
suited to your physical needs. Health and a zest for
life take fi rst place. That’s when we become one
with the environment and nature, far from those
pressures deep down. No physical discomfort
caused by temperature, visual discomfort caused
by light, tension caused by environmental noise.
Free of undesirable infl uences but at one with
the positive aspects of the environment. A space
where we can live and work in dialogue with our
surroundings.

A baby deserves a healthy living environment
from its very fi rst minute in the world.
RENSON® watches over the air a baby
breathes from the very start of maternity.
We want to create a healthy indoor
environment for everyone, everywhere,
even where lots of people come together
such as in hospitals and care centres,
because breathing healthy air
feels and does good.
46
Schoolchildren must be free to mess about, read, play, think, breathe ...
away from negative infl uences. Using healthy air, RENSON® gives students food
for thought, literally. You need oxygen to stay focused. Sustainability will have
an even more important role in the future. That’s why RENSON® developed the
healthy school environment as a response to the needs of tomorrow.
47
Whoever you are and whatever you do, a healthy living world is a work
in progress. RENSON® continues to innovate from a continuous concern
to make the world as pleasant and healthy as possible.
We devise natural solutions
that guarantee a comfortable

We want the best for our children and for ourselves. RENSON® wants

to become happy and complete people.
That’s why RENSON® strives to provide the most important thing for
the private world of families: healthy air to breathe, day after day.

The older we become, the more we appreciate that good health equals wealth.
Grandparents understand that all too well when they look at their active grandchildren.

children and grandchildren. How? By providing a comfortable indoor environment
everywhere.
