From the Fish Bone and Heart - Teal (B), cut:• (2) 3 ⅛” x 42 ½” WOF strips, piece as needed.• (2) 2 ½” x 28 ½” WOF strips.

From the Starry Basics - Green (C), cut:• (3) 2” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 2” x 45 ½” strips.• (2) 2” x 30 ½” WOF strips.

From the Starry Basics - Indigo (D), cut:• (3) 2” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (28) 2” x 3 ½” strips.• (3) 2” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (56) 2” squares.• (6) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.

From the Paw Print - Ecru (E), cut:• (6) 2” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (112) 2” squares.

From the Plaid - Teal (L), cut:• (4) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 2 ½” x 60 ½” strips.• (3) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 2 ½” x 46 ½” strips.

From the Cat Allover - Tan (Backing), cut:• (2) 54” x WOF strips for the backing. Sew the strips together and trim to make the 54” x 72” back.

Center BlockBlock Assembly Note: Pay attention to the unit orientations when assembling the various components1. Sew (1) 3 ⅛” x 42 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the 23 ¼” x 42 ½” Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 28 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the block to measure 27 ½” x 45 ½” to make the Center Block (Fig. 1).

2. Place (1) 2” Fabric E square on the left side of (1) 2” x 3 ½” Fabric D strip, right sides together (Fig. 2). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 2). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance. Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 3).

3. Place another 2” Fabric E square on the right side of the 2” x 3 ½” Fabric D strip, right sides together (Fig. 4). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 4). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance. Flip open the triangle formed and press to make (1) Unit 1 strip (Fig. 5).

4. Repeat Steps 2-3 to make (28) Unit 1 strips total.

5. Repeat Steps 2-3 and refer to Figure 6 for fabric identification, placement and seam direction to make (28) Unit 2 strips.

6. Sew (1) 2” Fabric D square to each end of (1) Unit 1 strip to make the top row. Sew (1) 2” Fabric D square to each end of (1) Unit 2 strip to make the bottom row. Sew (1) Unit 1 strip to the left side and (1) Unit 2 strip to the right side of (1) 3 ½” Fabric F square to make the middle row. Sew the (3) rows together to make (1) Block One square (Fig. 7). Repeat to make a second Block One square.

7. Repeat Step 6 and refer to Figures 8-9 for component identification, placement and orientation to make (8) Block Two squares and (4) Block Three squares.

8. Sew (1) 3 ½” x WOF Fabric J strip and (1) 3 ½” x WOF Fabric K strip together lengthwise to make (1) Strip Set (Fig. 10). Repeat to make a second Strip Set.

9. Cut the Strip Sets into (16) 3 ½” x 6 ½” Unit 3 strips (Fig. 11).

10. Paying attention to the orientation of the strips, sew (2) Unit 3 strips together lengthwise to make (1) Block Four square (Fig. 12). Repeat to make (8) Block Four squares total.

Quilt Top Assembly(Follow the Quilt Layout while assembling the quilt top.)13. Sew (1) 2” x 45 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 2” x 30 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

14. Sew the Side, Top and Bottom Borders to the Center Block.

15. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 60 ½” Fabric L strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 46 ½” Fabric L strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the quilt top.

16. Layer and quilt as desired.

17. Sew the (6) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric D strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

18. Bind as desired.

11. Sew (1) Block Two square to the top and to the bottom of (1) Block Three square. Sew (3) Block Four squares and (2) 6 ½” Fabric I squares together, alternating them. Sew the (2) strips together, end to end, to make (1) Side Border (Fig. 13). Pay attention to the block orientations. Repeat to make a second Side Border.

12. Sew (1) Block One square, (1) Block Two Square, (1) Block Three square, (1) Block Two square, (1) 6 ½” Fabric I square, (1) Block Four square and (1) 6 ½” Fabric I square together in that order to make the Top Border. Repeat to make the Bottom Border.
