President’s Message

Here it is November and the weather reports

this past week have shown snow in some of the

northern states and I'm not talking about the

mountains. Our trip to Snowmass is now sold

out. At last count, Linda had 32 members go-

ing to see "Lou tells at Big One" at the comedy

venue, "The Joint", in North Little Rock. We

are now asking all members to sign up for the

Annual Snowball at the November meet-

ing. The Snowball is our premier event of the

year and once again will be held in the Grand

Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza in Little Rock.

This is your chance to "dress up", enjoy live

music by Rockasaurus, exceptional hot and

cold hors d'oeuvres of many varieties, dancing

and a great time is promised to all who at-

tend. Hope to see you all at the November

meeting on the 10th.... till then, THINK SNOW!

This popular comedy series continues as ”Lou tells a big one” in the fictional town of Dumpster, AR. This is an original sketch comedy and is family friendly. For those who would like to eat dinner first and have a little extra social time, the back room at Creegan’s Irish Pub (300 Main street, NLR) is reserved for us starting at 5:15 pm. For those who prefer to go directly to the Joint, it is possible to purchase small snacks, small sandwiches, beverages (wine, beer, coffee, soft drinks) at the Joint. Steve Farrell is the head writer, composer and artistic director. His work has been featured on MTV, Saturday Night Live, Off Broadway, The Today Show, NBC’s Nightly News and in thousands of live performances across the country. Two mountains. One for everybody

& one for those who dare for more !

Winter Park ski area is the closest major ski area to Denver & and was often overlooked because it did not have the glitzy reputation of Aspen or Vail. The mountains have always been known for great skiing and now the base has been updated & there is no excuse to stay away any longer. The Mary Jane ski area offers more advanced terrain for those skiers who want a bigger thrill on the steeps. The Zephyr Mountain condos are located at the base area & offer easy access to the lifts (50 yds) and other base area facilities. This ski trip is Wednesday to Wednesday and offers a tremendous value plus it will include a group party as usual. Limited space, so sign up early !
