Litrax Two Thermobamboo has excellent thermal and insulating properties achieving better warmth and insulation than other textiles of equivalent weight and thickness. High cloth warming and insulation values of above 2.00 clo units are now possible using less fibre or cloth compared with standard clothing textiles.

The excellent insulation properties of LITRAX TWO Thermobamboo make it possible to design elegant fashions for colder weather and outdoor conditions using body shaping and less bulky fabric. This fabric finds application in sleepwear, winter fashions, outdoor and sportswear, footwear and polar textiles. The warming effects naturally increase blood circulation, sometimes with surprising effects. In addition to its thermal properties, LITRAX TWO Thermobamboo has excellent sweat and odour absorption characteristics and offers protection against harmful UV rays.

LITRAX TWO Thermobamboo is ideal for use in bedding to produce thinner more comfortable duvets with superior warming and insulation properties. They have the added benefit of being fully washable and non-allergenic. With LITRAX TWO Thermobamboo, there is no longer any need for thick heavy feather down

LITRAX TWO Thermobamboo Insulating Staple Fibre

LITRAX TWO is a ThermoBamboo insulating fibre composite are processed through a engineered anhydrous pyrolysis of selected bamboo stems. LITRAX TWO ThermoBamboo fibers & yarns apply for paddings of jackets, beddings, indoor & outdoor clothes, winter fashion, shoes, sleeping bags, car seats, outdoor wear, medical & first aid blankets plus many industrial and construction applications.

Our insulating fibres accumulate and store heat, keep warm and interact with the body and environment simultaneously. We have the standard insulating fibre pads TBF-X (jackets, ski suits, sleeping bags, bedding), TBF-XS (shoe section & base), and TBF-XT (outdoor wear, gloves, accessories).

LITRAX TWO ThermoBamboo fibers insulate from 0.8 to over 3.9 Clo, a unit of thermal insulation used for clothing. which can be projected in to a massive and unprecedent ~27.5°C of raised temperature. The amount of insulation required to keep a resting person warm in a windless room at 70 °F (21.1 °C) is equal to 1 Clo. Typical light summer clothes have a value of 0.5 Clo, winter clothes vary usually between 1.0 and 2.0 Clo.


LITRAX TWO Thermobamboo Technology

Bamboo stems from selected species are subjected to high temperature processes to yield highly porous bamboo carbon. This is achieved through high temperature contraction of the original bamboo structure into an extremely condensed net structure with micropores of 50 - 90 nm in size. If that porous net were to be flattened, the actual surface of 1 gram of Thermobamboo carbon would be equivalent to the size of a baseball field. Unbelievable but true.

LITRAX TWO Thermobamboo has exceptional thermo-regulation properties as well as highly efficient absorption and filtering capabilities. These properties are due to the large number of extremely small pores on the pyrolized bamboo surface which provide a very large absorption area and act as a filter to electromagnetic wavelengths above 200 nm. As a result, fibres and yarns made with pyrolized bamboo have a warming effect, are odour- reducing, keep dry in humid summers and improve blood circulation. They also beneficially have a reduction effect on negative ions and provide enhanced resistance to static electricity and electromagnetic radiation.

How well does LITRAX TWO Thermobamboo insulate?

LITRAX TWO Thermobamboo provides exceptional clothing insulation properties in terms of the standard textile thermal insulation unit (clo unit) as measured according to EN13537 and ASTM1518-1985 methods.

The clo is a measure of thermal resistance. It measures the insulation provided by any layer of trapped air between skin and clothing and the insulation value of the clothing itself. 1 clo unit will maintain a sedentary man comfortable indefi- nitely in an environment of 21°C (70°F), 50% relative humidity, and 0.01 m/s (20 ft/min) air movement. Assuming no wind penetration and no body movements to pump air around, clothing insulation = 0.15 x weight of clothes in lbs. (i.e., 0.15 clo per lb of clothes). So 10 lbs. clothes = 1.5 clo. A thick business suit provides an average of approximately 1. clo of intrinsic insulation for the whole body. Common textiles such as shirts and pullovers display values between 0.5 - 1.1 clo while standard insulation values of bedding can be between 1.4 and 1.6 clo. LITRAX TWO insulates up to 3.2 Clo with fiber padding.
