LITERARY AND CO CURRICULAR ACHIEVEMENTS (Session 2018-19)
CYBER SECURITY
It is rightly said “Security must be built into the foundation
of IOT solutions” Cyber security is a complex issue that cuts
across multiple domains and calls for multi dimensional,
multi layered initiatives and responses. It has proved to be a
challenge for governments because it involves various
ministries and departments. It is an integral part of our
National security. Keeping the present scenario into
consideration, VIT Bhopal organized CyVIT (An Annual
Cyber Security Conclave 2019). This was a two days event.
14 Students of Class XII attended this conclave under the
guidance of HOD Computer Science. The highlights of the conclave were discussion on cyber security by Dr.
Rahul Tyagi , co-founder, Lucideus . Panel discussion with Mr. Nalinikanth, Mr. Abhilash from Though works
Inc. USA. Webinars were also conducted with IIT Indore, Massachusetts USA etc. During the discussion,
students were encouraged to ask questions and provide probable answers. The students of DPS Kolar
participated enthusiastically and won goodies from Thought works Inc. It was surely an enriching session
and students understood the importance of cyber safety and urgency to spread awareness about it in the
present scenario. VC (VIT), Addl. Director General National Cyber Safety and security standards felicitated
students and Ms. Sumati Shrivastava who was awarded the certificate of Appreciation for her outstanding
efforts in volunteering in spreading awareness about cyber security.
THE LITERARY FEST
The Literary fest 'Biblio' was organised at SPS Saket Nagar
Bhopal. In the Literary Competition, Kaleidoscope, give
life to a fictional landscape, Pari Singh Parihar of class VII
and Vedant Singh of class VI bagged the second position.
The theme of the programme was “Honesty is the best
policy”.
INTER SCHOOL DEBATE COMPETITION ORGANIZED BY GREEN VALLEY SCHOOL
DPS Kolar Road Bhopal emerged the winner of the Ajay
Singh Yadav Memorial Inter-school English Debate
Competition organized by Green Valley Senior Secondary
School Bhopal. In their maiden attempt, the organizing
school had invited 10 schools from across Bhopal. Ananya
Jaitly and Anurag Chittavar of X-D formed the team,
speaking for and against the motion respectively on a very
contemporary and appropriate topic “Technology is making us lazy”. All the contestants put forth their
views and arguments skillfully and convincingly. Speaking FOR the motion, Ananya Jaitly stood first while
Anurag Chittavar was adjudged third Speaking AGAINST the motion.
JAHNAVI EXCELS AT INTER SCHOOL DEBATE
Delhi Public School, Kolar Road added yet another feather
in their illustrious cap with its student, Jahnavi Palanduk
securing Second position in the debate contest organized
by ‘Pandit Kunjilal Dubey National Parliamentary
Institution’. The topic for the competition was "Is India's
Parliament a Mirror of Democracy?" 74 students of
different schools participated in this competition. Jahanvi
was awarded a sum of Rs. 7,500 and certificate by the
institution.
INTER SCHOOL SPELLATHON
Aadya Singh of Class VI bagged the 2nd position in middle
school category in 'Spellabong' Inter School Spellathon
organized by Billabong International High school.
DPS LITERARY FEST - 'A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS'
The Annual Inter DPS Literary Fest- 'A Thousand Splendid
Suns' was organised at DPS Dwarka on 15th December
2018, under the aegis of DPS society. A total of 101
schools participated in various online, offline and onsite
events.
Harman Saini from Class IV and Karanjaee Patwardhan
from class V participated in an offline event 'Pic your Pic' ,
wherein they had to design a picture dictionary. They brought laurels to the school by securing the Second
position at national level.
Riddhi Kushwaha from Class VII got special mention in the onsite event 'By Word of Mouth'. She enacted
the character of Bianca Castafiore from Tintin series.
Aadhya Singh from Class VII participated in 'Literary Geek- The English Quiz' and qualified in the Preliminary
round. She secured position amongst the top ten schools in the final round.
GENESIS OF LITERATI-2018'
NRI GD School organised 'Genesis of Literati-2018'. Seerat Jaitly- Class V F and
Sulakshna Guha- Class VI E participated in a Self Written Story Narration
Competition. Both the participants bagged 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
SAHODAYA INTER SCHOOL DEBATE COMPETITION
The Sahodaya Inter School English Debate Competition
was organized on 7th January 2019 by Sharda Vidya
Mandir School Bhopal. 4 students from DPS Kolar Road
Participated in the competition. The motion of the debate
was 'Euthanasia should be legalized' It was indeed a proud
moment when DPS Kolar won the competition defeating
15 prominent schools of the city. The school team bagged
three awards out of four. Yashas Shende of Class IX was adjudged the 'Best Speaker' for the motion. Anchal
Sahai and Kuhu Kothari also from Class IX respectively won the 'Best Interjector' award both 'for' and
'against' the motion.

The students of DPS Kolar participated enthusiastically and
brought laurels to the school. Thirteen schools
participated in various events. Delhi Public School Kolar
team won prizes in the following events Click Event: 3 rd
position, Parthsarthi Varma (X) Cynth Event: 3rd Position,
Akshat Kashap (XI) & Anirudh Kumar (X)
COMPUTER TECH FEST
DPS Kolar Road participated in Sanskaar Valley Techfest4.0
on 13th Oct 2018 wherein 21 schools from Bhopal with 350
students participated. Dipsites scored First position in Digi
wiz quiz junior, Digi wiz quiz senior and Treasure Hunt. The
School Team stood Second in two online events, Animate
with Stykz and Snip & Snap. DPS team also scored Third
position in Script the Sprite.
SANSKAAR TECHFEST 5.0
"The key is not the will to win… everybody has that. It is the
will to prepare to win that is important.”
We are proud to share that DPS Kolar has won over all
champions trophy in Sanskaar techfest 5.0. The highlights
are:
1. We won first prize in ‘Digi wiz junior quiz’. (participants are: Srishti Negi, Sulakshana Guha, Naman
Johri & Tanushree vijayvargiya)
2. 'First prize in ‘Digi wiz Senior quiz’. (Participants are : Vibhor Rai, Yashas Shende, Rudra Bahal and
Ayush Kumar)
3. Second prize in ‘Clever note online Notebook creation’. (Participant's name : Nirvan Vidyasagar)
4. Third prize in ‘Light, Camera, Action.‘ (Participants are : Mihir Kumar & Keshav Tomar).
GEOGRAPHY OLYMPIAD
(National Level- April, 2018)
The 8th edition National Geography Olympiad completed
successfully on 29th April 2018 (at Shri Balaji International
School Mumbai) with children competing and winning the
National Finalist competition trophies, certificates and
prizes.
Geo Genius Geography Olympiad 2018 was conducted on 14th Dec' 18. Srija Sarkar (Class IV –A),
Abhimanyu Saha (Class IV-E), Dhairya Garg (Class VI-B) and Rishabh Kothari (Class-VIII-B) have qualified for
Nationals Finals which was conducted on Sunday 28th April 2019 at Shri Balaji International School,
Mumbai.
The 9th edition of The NATIONAL GEOGRAPHY OLYMPIAD
was successfully completed on 28th April 2019 at Shri
Balaji International School Mumbai with children
competing and winning prizes, trophies and certificates.
Four students of DPS KOLAR ROAD BHOPAL participated in
the National Finale. In the sub junior category SRIJA
SARKAR of class IV has bagged All India Rank (AIR) 1 and
has won a laptop, winning trophy and a certificate,
ABHIMANYU SAHA of class IV has bagged (AIR) 6 and has received a trophy a certificate and a book. In the
Junior Category DHAIRYA GARG of class VI has bagged (AIR) 9 and has received a trophy, a certificate and a
book. In the senior category RISHABH KOTHARI of class VIII has bagged (AIR) 2 and has received a trophy, a
Sony Digital Camera and a certificate. 10,000 students from around 125 schools across the country
participated in the school level of this competition.
MUSIC
Inter DPS Hindustani Vocal Music Competition was held in
Navi Mumbai. Aalap Bhat, Akshat Rawat, Aparajita
Chakravarti, Mitesh Sharma Akshat Kashyap, Divyanshi
Singh, Snigdha Dwivedi and Aditiya Hargunani participated
in the Inter DPS Hindustani Vocal Music Competition
(Zonal Level). Overall 16 Schools participated and from
zone 5 DPS Kolar bagged the 2nd Position and qualified
for the National Level.
Aradhya Purohit and Aditya Hargunani participated in All India Tabla competition held at Dev Samaj
Modern School, New Delhi. The participating students received many blessings from the veterans in the
field and won the third position in the duet category.
VOCAL MUSIC
A team of 8 Students from Classes VIII & XI brought laurels to
themselves and made the school proud by clinching the FIRST POSITION in National Level, Inter DPS
Hindustani Vocal Music Competition held at DPS Faridabad on 1st December 2018. Students who
participated were: Aalap Bhat, Mitesh Sharma, Aparajita Chakravarti, Divyanshi Singh, Akshat Kashyap,
Akshat Rawat of Class XI and Snigdha Dwivedi, Aditya Hargunani of Class VIII.
Aalap Bhat of Class XI added one more feather of success in his cap by securing First Position in the State
Level Competition of Kala Utsav 2018 in Indian Classical Solo Song Category on 12th November 2018. He
qualified for the National Level which was held at Delhi. After winning first position in Kala Utsav 2018 in
Indian Classical Solo Song Category at District, Division and State level Competition Aalap Bhat
represented M.P. State in the National Level Competition.
Students from Classes VIII to XII brought laurels to the
school by winning first position in Inter School Carol
Singing Competition held at St. Theresa's Senior
Secondary School on 15th December 2018.
The participants were: Snighda Dwivedi, Manya Johri, Harshadaa Meshram, Arul Singh, Kabeer Choudhury,
Anindita Nandkumar, Samradhi Shrivastava, Khushi Singh, Tejasv Jain, Akshat Kashyap, Akshat Rawat,
Mitesh Sharma, Aarohi Nagar and Palash Agrawal.
Snigdha Dwivedi of Class VIII won the Ojasvini Mahotsav Finale 2018-19 in Solo Song Category (12-18 years
B group).
INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
Aradhya Purohit and Aditya Hargunani bagged third
position in Tabla Duet Recital in All India Competition for
Arts, Culture and Literature hosted by Parmarth
Foundation at New Delhi. The award ceremony took place
in Lok Kala Manch, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on 15th
November 2018.
DANCE
The Inter School Dance Competition was won by DPS
Kolar organized by Asnani School, Hoshangabad Road on
5th October 2018. The students those who participated
were: Anushka Sahani, Devlina Saha, Anika Bhatnagar,
Rishima Dubey, Honey Ahuja, Ananya Bhugra, Samraddhi
Tripathi and Hita Gatiputi.
Delhi Public School, Kolar Road organized the Shri Gurudev Gupta Memorial Inter School Dance
Competition on 14th January 2019. Our school bagged the First Position.
The Students who participated were: Disha Gupta, Kakul Upadhyay, Anika Bhatnagar, Ananya Bhugra,
Harshita Pathariya, Anushka Sahani, Radhika Sharma, Devlina Saha, Rishima Dubey, Myra Sahai, Samraddhi
Tripathi, Shreyanshi Gupta, Devansh Choubey, Sanvi Rai and Sakshi Kene.
INTER-DPS GENERAL KNOWLEDGE QUIZ 2018 organised by The DPS Society
Delhi Public School Kolar Road, Bhopal in its efforts to
contribute in a significant way to educational thinking and
innovative approaches to education, participated in the
Inter DPS General Knowledge Quiz (Regional level)
organized by 'The Delhi Public School Society' in Jaipur.
The middle level team comprising of Rishabh Kothari of class VIII, Akshat Sharma of class VII and Dhairya
Garg of class VI won the Regional Level, qualifying for the National Level Grand Finale to be held in Delhi
in the month of December.
The senior team comprising of Dev Jhawar of class XI, Aditya Singh of class X and Yashas Shende of class IX
also made it to the final round.
'ENQUESTA' GENERAL KNOWLEDGE QUIZ 2018 ORGANISED BY MONTFORT SCHOOL
DPS Kolar is the proud winner of the 8th Montfort Cup Inter
School Quiz Quest 'ENQUESTA' organised by St. Monfort
School Bhopal. In these event 28 reputed schools from
across the city participated and our students performed
exceedingly well to emerge Winners. Rishabh Kothari &
Aradhya Purohit of class VIII Participated and won the cup.
QUIZ WIZARDS
Delhi Public School Kolar Road clinched the First position in the 6th Annual Inter-School General
Knowledge Quiz Competition organised by the Rotary Club Midtown Bhopal on 3 Sep'18. Anurag
Chittawar and Pal Mihani of Class X won the title by defeating 22 reputed schools of Bhopal. They received
trophies, certificates and a cash prize of Rs 10,000/-.
DPS Kolar has bagged 1st position in the 14th Rotary Inter
School General Knowledge Quiz 2019 after defeating 24
teams of Bhopal. The proud winners are Rishabh Kothari
and Abhijeet Saha of Class IX. They received a running
trophy, individual trophies and cash prize of rupees 500
each.
Wild Wisdom Quiz – City Level & International
The team of Rishabh Kothari (Class VIII) and Dhairya Garg
(Class VI) qualified for the 11th edition of Wild Wisdom
International Quiz 2018 which was held on 4th Oct' 18 in
Delhi and secured the third position. 58,000 students
from 670 schools across India, Nepal and Bhutan
participated in the school level of this prestigious event.
They won a two day trip to Sariska National Park
sponsored by WWF-India and Explorers.
Inter DPS General Knowledge National Level Quiz
DPS Kolar secured first position in the Inter DPS National Level
General Knowledge Quiz 2018 by defeating 13 teams pan India
including DPS Navi Mumbai, DPS Gr. Faridabad, DPS Panipat,
DPS Hyderabad and DPS New Town Kolkata. The team
comprising of Rishabh Kothari (Class VIII), Akshat Sharma (Class
VII ) and Dhairya Garg (Class VI) received a cash prize of Rs.
21000/-, a running trophy, a separate trophy for the School,
individual trophies, certificates and most importantly a letter of
Congratulations from the Chairman, DPS Society, Mr. VK
Shunglu.

MUN
For the first time DPS Kolar MUN was organized on 15th
December 2018. Model United Nations, also known as Model
UN (MUN) Conference was organized in which about 150
delegates from different schools participated in this
educational simulation.
MUN, is an educational academic activity in which students
can learn international relations, and the United Nations. The
programme aims to foster about diplomacy, negotiation,
speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
Participants in Model United Nations conference, known as delegates, were placed in committees and
assigned countries to represent, or occasionally other organizations or political figures, where they
represented members of that body. Assignments were presented to them in advance, along with topics
for discussion. Delegates conducted research before conferences and formulated positions. They
then debated with their fellow delegates in the committee, staying true to the actual position of the
country they represented.
The purpose of this procedure is to familiarize delegates with the substantial topics of debate,
encourage academic research and writing, and to enable substantial preparation for conference.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal Madam Vandana Dhupar. The
Chief Guest for the evening was Dr. Manoj Pandey, who is the representative for Women Empowerment
and Child Development in the United Nations. He motivated the children to become responsible future
citizens and praised the efforts of one and all.
The Secretary General Master Saksham Agrawal declared the conference open.
Madam Principal, Mrs. Vandana Dhupar in her pearls of wisdom congratulated the entire team of
DPSKOLARMUN and congratulated them for the grand success of the event.
SANSKRIT
Balrang was organized by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in the month of October 2018 to promote
literary and cultural activities in schools. Anuj Chanodia of Class VII A won District Level position in 'Ved
Paath' Competition. Vartika Sharma of Class VIIA won position at the Divisional Level in Essay Writing
Competition.
Maha Kavi Kalidas Samaroh – 2018 was organized by M.P. Government in the month of December 2018.
Suyasha Raikwar of Class VII – A won position at the District Level in “Shlok Gaayan Competition” in
Sanskrit.
Saral Sanskrit Pariksha was organised by Sanskrit Bharti Bhopal. (Madhay Bharati) on 15th
November 2018.
30 Dipsites participated in this event. Karanjee Patvardhan and Prerna Yadav of class 5 B
brought laurels to school by securing 1st and 3
rd positions respectively at State level
amongst 350 students.
SWACHH BHARAT COMPETITIONS
Organized by NHRD
National Education and Human Resource Development Organisation organized National Art Competition in
the month of July and August. Delhi Public School Kolar enthusiastically took part in this competition.
Around 800 Dipsites of classes 3rd to 10th participated, out of which 42 Dipsites received Gold Medals and
certificates in the category of level 1 and 11.
Our school received School Of Excellence Award, a trophy, a gold medal and a certificate. Our
Honourable Madam Principal, Vandana Dhupar received National Clean India Activity Principal Award
and staff members Ms. Meenal Jha and Ms. Anuragini Shadangule also received National Clean India
Activity Teacher Award.

Sachit Bhargava of Class III (2018-19) has been adjudged the National Level Winner in the All India Swachh
Bharat Art Competition. Sachit Bhargav along with the Principal, Mrs. Vandana Dhupar and the
Coordinating Teacher were invited to attend the award function by National Education & Human Resource
Development Organization on Saturday, 13th April, 2019 in Mumbai.
20 students of the school qualified for the State and National Level. 5 students have bagged prizes at the
State Level. They are:

SCIENCE QUIZ COMPETITION
Chinmay Gourkhede (Class XII) showcased his exceptional talent and brought laurels to
the school by clinching first position in the inter school competition NAEST (National
Anveshika Experimental Skill Test) held on 13.09.2018. Out of 250 students, 23 students
were selected for next round and Chinmay from DPS Kolar stood first.
Divyansh Bahal (Class IV) stood 2nd amongst 39 participants in Inter School Competition Jog Your Brain
(Healthy diet) held at Asnani School on 5th October. 2018.
A team comprising of two students 'Rishab Kothari (Class
VIII) and Rudra Bahal' (Class IV) participated in Inter DPS
Science Quiz Competition ' INQUISITIVE' held at DPS
Mathura Road on 26 Nov 2018 and brought laurels to the
school by winning First position amongst 49 participating
schools.
INTER SCHOOL SCIENCE QUIZ
AT JAGRAN LAKE CITY UNIVERSITY
Akhshat Chopra (Class XII) brought laurels to the school by
winning first position and cash prize of 11000/-.
Priyanshu Asthana and Chinmay Gourkhede both from
Class XII were given medals for their excellent
performance.
Aditya Sai Vardhan and Saket Dwarka of Class IX won
Second position in Model Making Competition and a cash
prize of Rs. 7000/- .Out of first four positions in the Quiz,
three were bagged the students of DPS Kolar.
DPS KOLAR added another feather to its cap by winning
third position in SCIENCE MODEL making competition held
at Regional Science Centre on 14th and 15th December
2018. Aditya Sai Vardhan and Saket Dwarka of class IX
brought laurels to the school by winning cash prize of Rs.
1000/- and a trophy for the school.
ANNUAL INTER SCHOOL SCIENCE QUIZ AT REGIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE
The school bagged the first position in Annual Inter School Science Quiz (2019). It was organized at
Regional Science Centre on 4th Feb, 2019 in which 27 schools participated. Rishab Kothari and Rudra Bahal
brought laurels to the school by winning First position in the Science Quiz (Junior category) . They won a
rolling trophy, a winner trophy for the school and gift worth Rs. 2000/. In the Senior Category Anurag
Chittawar and Pal Mihani from Class X won appreciation prizes and certificates for their excellent
performance.
ART AND CRAFT
Sahoday Drawing & Painting Competition
Garvita Shrivastava (group 3) secured 3rd position and Divyanshi Singh (group 4) won 3rd position in
Sahodya Drawing and Painting Competition.
KALAA SPANDAN INTERNATIONAL CHILD ART TALENT AWARD 2019

DPS Kolar with 'Kalaa Spandan Lion Award' for maximum number of entries sent. School got Appreciation
Award of Rs. 4,000/-. Appreciation award was also given to 24 students of DPS Kolar and three students
from Somvati Devi Shiksha Kendra.
