LiSN-SListening in Spatialized Noise – Sentences

LiSN-S

The Listening in Spatialized Noise – Sentences Test, or LiSN-S,

assesses the ability of children to understand speech when

there is noise coming from different directions. Understand-

ing speech in competing noise is a common problem found in

children with auditory processing disorder (APD). The LiSN-S

uses a totally new and ingenious way of testing auditory skills

in children. The test stimuli are presented under special head-

phones connected to a pc. A virtual three dimensional

acoustic space is created under these headphones, by making

use of advanced mathematical algorithms. Moving the

competing noise from the front to the sides, tests whether

children are able to make use of this spatial advantage.

Norms exist for children aged from 6 years through to

11 years and 11 months.

The LiSN-S is easy to administer, takes only 20 minutes and

gives you crystal clear results. The LiSN-S is scientifi cally

robust, very sensitive and offers high test-retest reliability.

It will support you in your clinical decisions and will help you

to determine whether a child’s listening skills have improved

after some form of intervention.

The LiSN-S package includes the software, a special USB

sound card and special high quality headphones.

It will change the diagnostics of APD for good. Upgrade your
