The abrasion resistance for xfT shows remarkable results,

compared with regular surface treatment for resilient

oor-ing. Surface treatment loss is measured in a modied

Taber test, where a wheel covered with emery paper and

loaded with a 1 kg weight rotates on the surface. The

emery paper is renewed every 20 revolutions to maintain

the abrasive action. When the surface treatment is worn

out, the number of revolutions is noted.

developed and patented by Tarkett allows for welding

samples to the right. The surfaces were cleaned with

Visual soiling behaviourand cleaning performanceThe dierences in brightness before and

after soiling and cleaning were measured

photometrically in accordance with D 5033-3

including the condence interval. t is clear that

Linoleum xfT shows signicantly better results

in terms of brightness and colour dierences.

Alkali resistanceAlkaline uids (detergent) were left on test

surfaces for dierent periods. Linoleum xfT clearly

shows signicantly better results in terms of visual

surface change. xample: virtually no visual change

to Linoleum xfT after having uid at pH 13 on its

surface for 24 hours.

Stain testQuantities (2 ml) of isopropanol, acetone, coee

and betaisodona on the dierent Linoleum surfaces

for 2 hours, and the changes were measured in

accordance with D 5033-3. The results show that

Linoleum xfT has signicantly better resistance to

aggressive substances like these, in terms of visual

surface change.

Wipe up any grease and

Entrance mattingAbout 80% of surface soiling that has to be cleaned o is brought from outside. And 90%of that soiling can be avoided by an eective and correctly dimensioned entrance mat.

Spot and stain removalTreat stains immediately. Handle spot using a white/red nylon pad with methylatedspirit, cleaning spirit or neutral detergent (solvents should not be used). Work fromthe outside of the mark towards its centre. Rinse and wipe afterwards with clean water.

Dry mopping / SweepingRemoves dust and dirt. se yarn or microbre mops, or disposable mops, dry orimpregnated. se a suitable broom with soft bristles.

Vacuum cleaning (for large areas)Removes dust and loose dirt. Can supplement mopping in conned spaces.Recommended for large areas and initial site cleaning.

Hygiene is one of the biggest concerns in the choice of ooring for hospitals. Linoleum xf T is a very good choice

for such facilities. Additionally to the xfT surface treatment, Linoleum xfT also oers very useful properties with

regards to bacteria.

Research by SL (ndustrial icrobiological Services Ltd) in accordance with norm JS Z 2801 shows that Linoleum

xfT has a signicant eect on two kinds of bacteria responsible for hospital-acquired and dicult-to-treat diseases:- RSA, a methicillin-resistant bacterium responsible for a high proportion of staphylococcal sepsis in hospitals

- Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a pathogenic and very resistant bacterium that is one of the most dicult bacteria to

treat clinically.

Laboratory tests, with a sample of unfortied polypropylene supplied by SL as a control, show that populations

of RSA exposed to standard Tarkett Linoleum xfT are reduced by 3.8 orders of magnitude after 24 hours.

Populations of Pseudomonas aeruginosa exposed to standard Tarkett Linoleum xfT are reduced by ca. 3.9 orders

of magnitude after 24 hours.

Linoleum xfT inhibits the growth of those bacteria and signicantly reduces the populations of RSA and

Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and possesses therefore very good properties for use in hospital.

When acoustic properties are needed, Tarkett Linoleum Silencio xTM is an excellent choice. Its

two-layer construction includes the xTM treated Linoleum, prebonded to an under layer. Tarkett

Linoleum Silencio xTM has a total thickness o 3.8 mm including 2.5 mm Linoleum with jute

backing and 1.3 mm polyurethane oam under layer, which give a sound reduction o 18 dB. A3.3 mm thickness version with sound reduction o 17 dB is also available on request.

The unique construction and the manuacturing process, give oorcoverings that minimise

the eect o impact noise. These oorings also oer greater elasticity, thermal insulation and

comort underoot that lead to an increased sense o wellbeing or the users.

Elaono is a 2mm thickness one -layer

underlayer made o cork grain and

a binding agent on jute backing.It provides a sound reducing eect

and is available in rolls o 2 m width.

Relaying on the same strong surace layer qualities o Linoleum xTM,

Tarkett Veneto Soluzione xTM comes with unique advantages its

modular ormat and its sel-locking system. The beneft o this is

simple, reliable and glue-ree installation.

Veneto Soluzione xTM is based on a three-layer construction consisting

o the 2 mm Linoleum surace, the 6.8 mm core and the 1.2 mm corkbase layer, giving a total thickness o 10 mm. The cork backing reduces

impact sound by 16dB.

Veneto Soluzione xTM is available on request in two modular sizes:

915x305 mm and 305x305 mm. The colours and design are coordinated

with the Veneto xTM range.
