MARCH 2019 Greetings from Sta. Rita Hills, The hills are alive with fresh green growth from the recent rains, the cover crops are booming with growth, and a vibrancy that is unparalleled to any other time of year. We are quite a bit ahead of our average rainfall for this time of year. As I write this, we are 1.5” ahead to date. This is great news for our vineyards! Heavy rain events help percolate salts in the soil that have built up over the past several years of drought in California. Now we patiently wait for the buds to break, which typically happens in March and often turns into a watch and wait game of mother nature’s frost events versus young fragile buds. In this shipment, we are including three of my favorites. Our 2018 Grüner Veltliner is possibly the best vintage we have made to date. Extended skin contact took the aromatics to next level. As a result, the bright fresh flavors of grapefruit, tangerine and passionfruit are even more concentrated in this flavorful version. It’s the perfect wine to accompany your first sunny spring picnic of the year! Timing could not be better to release our 2016 Lincourt Syrah! It is showing beautifully right now, so feel free to drink this one when the mood strikes for a rich, lush, fruity red. Being focused on Burgundian varietals, it’s so refreshing to have a small, premium block of cool climate Syrah to work with. Our Reserve Pinot Noir is bottled under the Two Sisters label, named after founder Bill Foley’s two daughters Lindsay and Courtney. The wines come from the best blocks of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the famed Sta. Rita Hills AVA. The wine is limited in production featuring heritage, heirloom and select clones. Our 2016 Two Sisters Lindsay’s Reserve Pinot Noir is the perfect bottle to share with your favorite wine connoisseurs, or enjoy all by yourself. Sincerely, Lorna Kruetz, Winemaker

MARCH 2019

Greetings from Sta. Rita Hills,

The hills are alive with fresh green growth from the recent

rains, the cover crops are booming with growth, and a

vibrancy that is unparalleled to any other time of year. We

are quite a bit ahead of our average rainfall for this time

of year. As I write this, we are 1.5” ahead to date. This is

great news for our vineyards! Heavy rain events help

percolate salts in the soil that have built up over the past

several years of drought in California. Now we patiently

wait for the buds to break, which typically happens in

March and often turns into a watch and wait game of

mother nature’s frost events versus young fragile buds.

In this shipment, we are including three of my favorites.

Our 2018 Grüner Veltliner is possibly the best vintage we have made to date. Extended skin

contact took the aromatics to next level. As a result, the bright fresh flavors of grapefruit,

tangerine and passionfruit are even more concentrated in this flavorful version. It’s the perfect

wine to accompany your first sunny spring picnic of the year!

Timing could not be better to release our 2016 Lincourt Syrah! It is showing beautifully right now, so

feel free to drink this one when the mood strikes for a rich, lush, fruity red. Being focused on

Burgundian varietals, it’s so refreshing to have a small, premium block of cool climate Syrah to work with.

Our Reserve Pinot Noir is bottled under the Two Sisters label, named after founder Bill Foley’s

two daughters Lindsay and Courtney. The wines come from the best blocks of Chardonnay and

Pinot Noir in the famed Sta. Rita Hills AVA. The wine is limited in production featuring

heritage, heirloom and select clones. Our 2016 Two Sisters Lindsay’s Reserve Pinot Noir is the

perfect bottle to share with your favorite wine connoisseurs, or enjoy all by yourself.

2018 Lincourt Grüner VeltlinerThis wine presents bright, fresh aromatics of bold pink grapefruit, tangerine zest,

and tart passionfruit. On the palate, it is very lean with ribbons of minerality,

acidity reminiscent of fresh lemon, and hints of white peach that linger on the finish.

2016 Two Sisters Reserve Pinot NoirOur 2016 Reserve Pinot Noir is a bold, yet refined wine that showcases the clonal

selections of Dijon 667 and 777 with earthy, dark fruit tones. 18 months of barrel aging

imparted aromas of pomegranate and blackberry with hints of dried herbs and espresso.

The palate evolves with finesse and finishes with lingering notes of cacao, coffee, dark

blackberry and cherry cola with nuance of black pepper. Decant for best showing.
