Lifestyle Guide
Greetings, Esplanade Residents!
As we move into the month of March and past the halfway point of the 2017 season, it’s a great time
to reflect on what a fantastic season we have enjoyed so far this year. The weather has been simply
exceptional, with cool nights to open up the lanais and enjoy a refreshing breeze, and comfortable
warm days to enjoy a game of tennis, a round of golf, or pickleball, bocce or simply lying around the
resort-styled pool!
Looking back to this same time this year we had just broken ground on the that fabulous pool, and
the Bahama Bar was only just beginning to take shape. There has been tremendous progress over
the last year in the amenities area, with plenty more progress on the way! The next area to watch will
be the addition of two more tennis courts to round out the Tennis Complex, then we will break
ground on the Golf & Tennis Shop, followed by the Learning Center.
Construction around the community is also booming, with over 230+ homes now closed, and another
100+ under contract. It’s exciting to see all the construction moving northward and filling in those
spaces around the golf course. We also have the groundwork progressing nicely in the new
development near the intersection of Esplanade and Cavano Street. It won’t be long before we see
some homes going vertical in there as well!
It’s a great time to be in Southwest Florida, and an even better time to be living at the Esplanade
Golf & Country Club. The activities and amenities are only going to continue growing and improving
over the months and years ahead, as the social fabric of the community gets stronger with each
passing season. It’s all quite exciting to experience, and is truly life in paradise!
I’ll see you around the campus…

Where do you go after the lob? Scenario 1:
Your lob is a good one, that is, you see your opponent clearly uncomfortable running to retrieve it.
Advance to the service line or a little closer. This way you can...1. move forward and put away a volley off of a short ball, or 2. move back and hit an overhead off of their defensive lob. ANTICIPATE!
Scenario 2: Your lob is good but they get in position to hit an overhead from the baseline or behind.
Advance all the way to the net. If you stay around the service line the overhead is, most likely going to be at your feet. By advancing to the net you are prepared to put away a volley. The fact that the overhead is coming
from the baseline gives you time to react. Scenario 3:
Your lob is not so good and your opponent prepares to hit an overhead from mid-court. MOVE!!! Actually, if you have time, backpedal to the baseline and split-step as your opponent hits the ball.
The split-step is important because it allows you to move right or left so you have a chance to get the ball back. You just have to guess at this point and hope you get lucky!
I can’t believe it’s March already! I hope everyone has been enjoying the golf course and some of our fun
and exciting golf events so far.
Those of you wishing to partake in Ladies’ Day, Men’s Day or any of our other great golf events, please
remember that you must have a GHIN handicap set up at Esplanade to be eligible. Even if you have an
existing GHIN handicap at another club, you will still need to set up a handicap with us to be eligible to
participate.
We in the Golf Shop are hoping you are enjoying a wonderful 2017 season. Please don’t hesitate to let me
know if you have any suggestions relating to how we can improve your golf experience here at Esplanade.
Should you have any questions about any of the above or about any golf-related subjects, please contact me
via email at [email protected] or in the Golf Shop at the number below.

Dear Esplanade Residents, It has been great seeing everyone around the Community this season. Many of you are back from your northern homes enjoying this beautiful weather.
Our Neighborhood News meeting with myself and the other department managers will continue to be held
towards the end of each month. An e-mail flyer will go out to everyone a few weeks before the meeting with the date, time and place. We hope to see you there!
As a reminder, all fountains will be shut down on days when winds exceed 10 mph. This is to reduce the amount of water loss in the fountains and to save the plants around the fountain that tend to die due to the
chlorine water over overspray.
It has been a pleasure meeting all the new homeowners that have purchased condos or single family homes
recently. Welcome to the Community we are thrilled to have you here!
Best Regards, Brittany Hilts, CAM Pope Properties | [email protected]
