As always, the Learning Directory boasts a wide range of interesting and challenging recreational and learning opportunities on offer throughout our community. Everything from learning a new language, to brushing up on your sewing skills. You can learn international cooking, computer programs and social media, painting, job skills… whatever piques your interest. Continuing lifelong learning is an important way to maintain an active, healthy and happy lifestyle. The courses listed in this directory will not only help you gain new skills, but also give you the opportunity to meet new people, discover new places and make new friends. Home Library Service Melton City Council offers a free home library service to eligible residents who are unable to visit their local library due to ill health, frailty or disability, or who care for someone in these situations. Library staff select material according to your interests and the items are then delivered to your home on a regular basis by volunteers. Melton Lifestylers Walking Group Being physically active as we age can make all the difference to living happier and healthier. We offer valuable exercise with a fantastic group of people. We walk many different routes across Melton Township and beyond for 45-‐60 minutes. A large group of people of all abilities are involved and you can walk at your own pace. Melton and Taylors Hill Men’s Sheds The community version of the backyard shed that has long been part of Australian culture. The Melton Men’s Sheds are places for blokes to come together to share their unique skills and experience in a relaxed and fun environment. The Sheds are places of creativity, teamwork celebrating community spirit and building on men’s health and well being. Registration is free as is tea, coffee and access to most of the programs. Printing During this course students will print on tea shirts, fabrics canvases and different types of paper using lots of stencils, all sorts of paint, glue and other items. Students are offered a unique chance to let their imagination free and create outstanding prints on foam, lino, paper, tea shirts or silk scarfs.
