“Beat the Tricks- Ganale a los Engaños” A message for educators and local coordinators
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s (NCMEC) Hispanic Heritage Month poster contest creates an opportunity to discuss real world and online safety challenges with children. This year, NCMEC wants to encourage children to learn about potential tricks in real world and online that impact their personal safety. To help facilitate these conversations we encourage local coordinators, educators, and community representatives to use FREE resources provided by NetSmartz (www.netsmartz.org ), and interactive online safety program. For this specific topic, we invite you to use the video “Beat the Tricks” to help children to recognize these situations, learn what to do, and the importance of telling a trusted adult. Educators and communities are also encouraged to use the accompanying activity cards, safety pledges, and discussion guides to help begin these important conversations.

“Beat the Tricks - Gánale a los engaños”

We pray to the Lord:
For the poor, the homeless, and all who are in need:
that they may receive love, respect, and the material assistance they need;
We pray to the Lord:
For all those facing an unexpected pregnancy:
that the peace of Christ may fill their hearts;

That we may listen for the Lord’s voice
and follow Him with trust;
We pray to the Lord:
That Jesus grant each of us
the courage and peace to share His love with the world;
We pray to the Lord:
That birthparents placing their children with adoptive families
may receive abundant support;
We pray to the Lord:
That all women, men, and family members suffering from abortion
may know the Lord’s tender, healing love;

For those who are ill:
may they draw strength from the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
who is always with us in our suffering;
We pray to the Lord:
For parents who have lost a child through miscarriage:
that they may know the comfort and hope that Jesus brings;
We pray to the Lord:
