Dear Parents, We are so happy that your child is participating in this year’s Vacation Bible School. At Roar, kids will discover that when life gets wild, God is good! We have made some significant chang- es this year that we hope will make you and your child’s VBS experience a life-changing adventure! Opening Assembly: Our VBS adventure will start promptly at 6:00 pm in CARTER HALL (Building C) Please arrive a few minutes early (especially on the first day). For the safety of everyone, please park in the back of the building (off McArthur Blvd) and walk in with your child. Registration Table: On your child’s first night, he/she will receive their Crew assignment & nametag. You will receive a claim ticket with your child’s name. You will need this card each day for pick up, please hang on to it! Your child will then be escorted to their crew by our volunteers. Each day you will need to walk inside with your child. Snack Schedule: Each night your child will receive a light snack. Please let us know if your child has any food allergies. Mission Project: This year we are collecting school supplies for a local elementary school. Items being collected include: tissues, #2 pencils, composition notebooks and book bags (can be used but in good shape, please). Please have your child/children bring items and place in collection boxes before the opening assembly. We have a challenge to see who can bring in the most items - Boys vs Girls! Closing Assembly: We will end each night with a closing assembly in Carter Hall (building C). You are invited to the closing assembly each evening at 8:15 p.m. The last half of the building will be reserved for parents. This is always an awesome time as we wrap up what we have learned each night. You definitely do not want to miss it! Dismissal: Your child’s safety is our top priority! With this in mind, please be patient as we dismiss children in a safe and efficient manner. You will need to come inside and sign your child out. Please don’t forget to bring the card with you that you received at registration. If you lose or forget to bring the card with you, you will need to present a photo ID to pick your child up. Dismissal procedure will be as follows: After the closing assembly, children belonging to volunteers will be dis- missed to another area. The remaining children (both early elementary and older elementary) will be dismissed from Carter Hall. There will be a table set up for parents to present their child’s card and then sign them out. Once the child has been signed out, they will be called to the table and dismissed. Colors: Each night has a color theme: Sunday - Red; Monday - Blue; Tuesday - Purple; Wednesday - Orange; Thursday - Green. Please encourage your child to wear the color of the day. Sunday Morning: We hope that you will join us Sunday, June 30th at 11 am for our worship service. The children will be singing some of the songs they learned at Roar VBS! Thank you for sharing your child with us. We look forward to a great week together! Tracey Landreth, Director of Children’s Ministries Life is Wild God is Good!
