    9. DESIGN FEATURES (Incorporated in crane)

    The following is a summary of the main features which are included in the basiccrane as offered and which will, therefore, be supplied and installed byLIEBHERR.

    9.1. The derrick boom and main beam are of mono-beam lattice type girderconstruction with rectangular cross section. The trolley rails are welded to thebottom members. Bolted replaceable rail sections provided at hinge point.

    9.2. Rating of motors, cables, general electrical design etc. are in accordance withI.E.C. (International Electro Technical Commission) and I.E.E (Institute of

    Electrical Engineers) regulations.

    9.3. Machinery/Electrical House

    The large spacious machinery house encloses the hoist, derrick units and H.T.transformer. The house is provided with a 5.0t. capacity service crane, a ropere-reeving device, a workbench with vice and lockers, heating and ventilation,etc.

    9.4. Double Derrick Rope and Brake System

    A double derrick rope and brake system is used. Braking is by means of anelectro-hydraulic main brake and an emergency disc brake.

    9.5. Hoist System and Brakes

    Two motors are provided on the hoist system. In the event of the failure of onemotor, the remaining motor will hoist and lower with loads of approx. 70%. Twoseparate electro-hydraulic brake systems are fitted.

    9.6. Trim / List / Skew System with Snag Load Protection and Hoist RopeAdjustment Facilities

    9.8. Main Access

    The main access to the drivers cabin and the Machinery and Electrical housesis by means of a 300 Kg. 4 person lift. A stairs system from ground level up tomachinery house level is also provided.

    9.9. Drivers Cabin

    The crane is equipped with a deluxe, sound attenuating, extra-spacious driverscabin, with swivel control seat and two part air-conditioning unit. An additionalfold-up seat, tinted double glazing and pull down roller blinds are provided.

    9.10. Manual Storm Pin System and Wedge Type Automatic Rail Brakes areprovided.

    9.11. Anti-Sway System.

    9.24. Drive control is performed by AC Drivecontrol technology.

    9.25. Spreader Cable Basket

    A heavy duty spreader cable basket is provided for coiling of spreader cable.

    9.26. Additional Long Travel Controls

    Long Travel control from a ground control station is provided.

    9.27. Cabin Digital Display - EMS High Resolution Type.

    9.28. Power Factor Correction Equipment and Harmonic Filtering Equipment isprovided.

    9.29 Surface Protection System

    Shot-blasting to Swedish standard Sa2 Surface protection system usingpaints from International/Hempel or equivalent.

    9.30. Anti-Collision System

    9.31. Remote Boom Operation

    The boom may be raised / lowered from a separate panel in the drivers cabin.Raising / lowering, locking and unlocking sequence is fully automatic. Atelevision camera / monitor is provided to permit viewing of latching mechanismand ropes.

    9.32. Simultaneous Motions

    Operation of the hoist, trolley and long travel can be carried out simultaneously.

    9.33. Radio communicationwith the port and container yard personnel.

    9.34. Weldingand Convenience outletsare provided on the crane.

    9.35. Gantry, Trolley and Spreader position detection to support the requiredcontainer location information.

    10. OPTIONAL EXTRAS

    The following options maybe supplied/installed for additional cost:

    10.1. A Hook Beam S.W.L. 58.00 Tonnes may be supplied.

    10.2. For parking the crane in out of service conditions in higher wind speeds Tie

    Downs can be installed.

    10.3. A Checkers Cabin may be provided under the landside end-carriage with plug-

    in point for crane management system.

    10.4. Energy Chain instead of Festoon.

    10.5. Remote Diagnostic facilities from crane to engineering workshop via RF Linkand/or via modem to factory in Killarney.
