•LifeGuard HP and Cryo Hoses

17

The HP hose LifeGuard is assembled with an internal cable

in monel which avoids any division in pieces after a hose

breaking. Fixed coupling loops must be obligatory added to

both end fittings.

This coupling loops in both end fittings provide a double

safety in case of hose breaking in comparison to traditional

hoses: As the flow is stopped, both sides remain joined

themselves and joined to both external points avoiding hose

whipping.

The LifeGuard internal cable in monel allows the thermal dispersion in both hose

extremities in case of an adiabatic compression happens.

The LifeGuard safety system has been recommended by AL Safety Dpmts

(DMRS) and each model has been tested by by CTE Dpmt and approved Air

Liquide, Praxair and Linde Gas (see the list of approved hoses inside the

presentation)

Page 18: LGT Presentation - 2015

Is there a flow restriction?

Technical Designs

Independent test reports prepared by two major industrial gas distributors, one

major industrial hose manufacturer and an independent laboratory all confirm a

minimal –4% flow restriction. Look at the enclosed pictures and decide for

yourself!!

Sales Approach and Questionnaire

1. Target Customers

Focus selling efforts toward industries that commonly transfer

hazardous materials through hose (any application the has the

potential of causing Human injury or environmental / property damage

should a hose fail):

· Chemical Petroleum Compressed Gas Industry Applications

Acids LNG Oxygen Truck Loading

Poisons LPG Hydrogen Ship Loading

Hazardous Chem. Flammable Items Nitrogen Rail Car Loading

Propylene Sulfur Dioxide Off Shore Drilling

Freon Drum Filling

Argon Piping Connectors

Customer Probing

Imperative to develop a “Champion” for the LifeGuard Safety Hose safety

(features/benefits) values.

. A. In charge of safety or have a strong influence in safe company

operations

• Safety Engineer

• Director of Plant Safety

• Operations Manager

• Human Resources Manager

B. Have responsibility for environmental reporting

• Environmental Engineer

• Chemical Engineer

• Production manager that has had experience with hose

accidents

• Operations manager that has accident cost management

responsibility

3. What is a “Champion?”- How do you find one?

Sales Approach and Questionnaire

Page 42: LGT Presentation - 2015

Customer Probing Questions:

1. Do you use hoses for loading, unloading or transferring of products?

2. What are these products and applications such as hydrofluoric acid, propane,

diesel fuel, chlorine, etc.?

3. Do you consider these applications hazardous? Are there possible

environmental spill issues, injury to personnel, damage to property hazards

from hose failure?

4. What are the typical lengths and dimensions? Do you use loading arms with

hose connections?

5. Do you use hoses in any compressed gas applications such as compressors,

cylinder filling, where the hose’s failure could result in whipping injuries?

6. If you are using specific hoses, are there any preferences by type (rubber,

metal, plastic etc.), governmental specifications or internal user

specifications?

7. Can you provide any purchase requisitions detailing the specifications?

Sales Approach and Questionnaire

Page 43: LGT Presentation - 2015

Trial Sample – always attempt to get a sample hose in for test –

target the most dangerous application for the test.

In Plant Presentations

• Always attempt to get your champion to set up a plant presentation

with as any staff from different plant locations that could use LifeGuard

Safety Hose

• Show the GPSS Video

• Be prepared to quantify hose cost
