STRUCTURAL AND FORENSIC ENGINEERS 307 7th avenue suite 1001 | new york, ny 10001| p: 212.741.1102 f: 212.741.1104 16 November 2011 To Whom It May Concern: This letter is written in support of Michael Collins, Town of Rhinebeck Code Enforcement Officer, as it may help or support his inquiries and interests to fill engineering, administrative or construction-related positions. I have had the recent opportunity to work with Mr. Collins on building-related code issues and on numerous photovoltaic installations in the Town of Rhinebeck. I have developed a great respect for his organization and thoroughness in his job as the Code-Enforcement Officer. I have known Michael Collins for about 8 years. We first met when my family and I moved to the Village of Rhinebeck in 2003. During this time, I have seen Mike use his technical skills and community spirit for the direct benefit and protection of the Town of Rhinebeck. Maybe more important than his management skills, I understand him to be a good father, active community volunteer and concerned citizen. As an educated and licensed professional engineer myself, I appreciate Michael’s engineering background and experience. While I understand that Mike’s primary engineering expertise has been focused on electrical-related work, his education and life experience has prepared him well to be quickly adaptable and responsive to many challenges as a Code Enforcement Officer. His communication skills and ability to dissect code and zoning information has benefited our community. Best regards, Robert J Murray, PE
