This is in response to your May 8, 2015 letter regarding the unsafe crossing conditions at Meeker andSkillman Avenues, Brooklyn.  We must apologize for the delay in responding.

 

The Pedestrian Projects Group completed a field investigation at the above location.  As a result of theirinvestigation, this Department will be proposing improvements to this location, as well as other locationsalong Meeker Avenue (from Union to Metropolitan Avenues).  Proposed improvements will includeshorter crosswalks, wider sidewalks, improved signal timing and clear lane designations.  We aretentatively scheduled to present this safety proposal to Community Board 1’s Full Board on January 12,2016.
