The Edna Valley provides one of the most special micro climates on earth to grow Chardonnay. The flavor profile of the finished wines is quite distinct, giving Edna Valley Chardonnays a unique personality. They present ripe tropical fruit flavors layered with citrus components, vibrant acidity,

and the expected minerality characteristic of super premium Chardonnay.

An appellation that has become specialized and world renowned for Chardonnay

Planted by Jack and Catharine Niven in the early 1970s

Pioneering vineyard of the Edna Valley

…LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD

It has been proven over time that Paso Robles is hands-down a stellar place to grow Cabernet Sauvignon. Benefiting from the largest swing between high daytime and low nighttime temperatures of any region in California, the climate allows wine grapes to fully develop solid varietal characteris-tics and highly concentrated color and flavor. No strangers to Paso Robles, the Niven family has been a part of San Luis Obispo County’s farming history for more than four decades. They previ-ously owned and farmed a Cab ranch in Paso, and have continually been proponents of keeping this expressive fruit local and in bottles bearing the Paso Robles appellation. Along with winemaker Christian Roguenant, they have tapped into their multi-generational relationships with current growers to source high quality fruit for this wine. True Myth Cabernet Sauvignon shows off exactly what the AVA is known for; rich, gutsy Cabs of distinct depth and varietal character.

P A S O R O B L E S 2012 CA BER NET SAU V IGNON Myths have been in existence since the beginning of recorded time. Ages

ago, they were created by man to account for natural occurrences. As society changed and moved forward, myths became modern and urban. No matter the era, they have constantly been regarded as unexplained possibilities. Except for one. That one is me, as I am easily explained; I am simply the caretaker of the natural world that exists regardless of human beings or civilization. I am Mother Nature.

More than 40 years of careful, diligent farming have proven that the Edna Valley is truly a special place for Chardonnay. Those of us who have been here since its inception know and understand what a treasure this area is, as well as how it translates to fabulous wines. Like many other beautiful wonders on our planet - towering redwoods, powerful waterfalls, volunteer wildf lowers, lush rainforests - this is an incredible place, one that I visit often.

B R A N D O V E R V I E WA specialty appellation winery, True Myth produces wines made of varietals from specific regions along California’s Central Coast. We grow the fruit for our brightly tropical Chardonnay in the Edna Valley, the coolest wine region in the state, and our gutsy bold Cabernet Sauvignon is from the distinctively warmer Paso Robles region only about 30 miles to the north. Both wines are rich and delicious, each speaking to the diversity of San Luis Obispo County.

CHARDONNAYThe Edna Valley provides one of the most special micro climates on earth to grow Chardonnay. The coolest growing region in all of California, as cited in a study by Southern Oregon University, it is a mere 5.4 miles from the Pacific Ocean.

Jack Niven pioneered winegrape planting with Paragon Vineyard in the early 70s. Home to the oldest continually producing Chardonnay vines in the region, the Niven family has owned and farmed this vineyard for more than 40 years. A rarity at this price point, this Chardonnay is solidly backed by decades of history, experience and heritage. The flavor profile is quite distinct, with ripe tropical fruit f lavors layered with citrus components, vibrant acidity, and the expected minerality characteristic.
