Time allocation: 2 x 40’

Competence Standard : Understanding and expressing the meaning of spoken functional text

and simple short to interact with closest environment

Basic Competence : Responding and expressing ideational meaning of simple short

functional text in the form of shopping list accurately, fluently and

acceptably to interact with closest environment

Objective : At the end of the lesson, students will be able to comprehend and

perform a simple short functional text in the form of shopping list

based on their own needs and present it orally in front of the class

with accurate vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar.

Indicator : 1. Identify form of shopping list

2. Pronouncing the words correctly

3. Identify words of short functional text in the form of shopping list

4. Identify specific information of a simple short functional text in the form of shopping list

5. Analyse the content of short functional text in the form of shooping list

6. Perform a short monologue of shopping list in front of the class.

I. Teaching method : Three phase technique

II. Teaching Procedures

A. Pre-activities

1. Teacher greets the students and checks for the roll

2. Teacher asks students about the topic they will learn (brainstorming). For

example, ‘Have you ever gone shopping or accompany your mom shopping?’,

‘What do your mom usually do before going shopping?’

3. Teacher presents students the example of shopping list.

B. Whilst Activities

1. Teacher asks students to repeat her pronunciation of list of things

2. Teacher explains vocabularies that she mentioned

3. Teacher asks students to match the words

4. Teacher reads the list of things and students have to answer the questions on

students’ worksheet.

5. Teacher asks students to state whether the statements are true or false based on

the text the teacher read.

6. Teacher asks students to make shopping list based on their own needs and tell

them to their friends in front of the class.

C. Post Activities

1. Teacher summaries the lesson.

2. Teacher gives students homework to make shopping list.
