DAY 1 LESSON PLAN
Focus: Listening and speaking
Theme: World of self, family and friends
Topic: My Happy Days
Content Standard: 1.1 Pupils will be able to pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation.
Learning Standard: 1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes or sing songs with guidance.
Objective: By the end of the lesson pupils should be able to: say aloud and recite rhymes with guidance
Time: 60 minutes

1. Introduction –Teacher reads the rhyme on the board and pupils listen

Content Standard: 2.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to apply knowledge of sounds of letters to recognise words in linear non-linear texts
Learning Standard: 2.1.3 Able to blend to four phonemes into recognizable words and read them aloud.
2.1.2 able to recognise articulate initial, medial & the final sounds in single syllable words within given context : (c) (d)

Learning Standard: 3.1.2 (d) able to copy and write in neat legible print ( words ).
3.2.4 able to spell common sight words and seen words
Objective: By the end of the lesson pupils should be able to ;write in neat legible print ( words ) and spell common sight words and seen words
Time: 60 minutes
Teaching Aids: Worksheet, word cards, complete rhymes chart, incomplete rhyme chart.
