GENERAL NOTES:
1. THE ENGINEER WILL SET NECESSARY CONSTRUCTION STAKES TO CONTROL THE WORK, HOWEVER THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO

2. EXISTING UTILITIES ARE SHOWN BASED UPON THE BEST INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO THE ENGINEER. UTILITY RELOCATION WORK MAY BE
ONGOING DURING CONSTRUCTION. REMOVING AND DISPOSING OF ALL ITEMS GENERATED DURING UTILITY RELOCATION WILL BE CONSIDERED
UNDER CLEARING AND GRUBBING AND WILL NOT BE MEASURED FOR SEPARATE PAY. THE CONTRACTOR MUST COORDINATE DIRECTLY WITH
EACH UTILITY OWNER TO HAVE UTILITY LINES FIELD LOCATED IN ADVANCE OF CONSTRUCTION.
3. THE EROSION CONTROL DEVICES SHOWN IN THESE PLANS ARE A MINIMUM REQUIREMENT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSURE THAT SILT DOES
NOT LEAVE THE RIGHT-OF-WAY DURING CONSTRUCTION.
4. THE SUBGRADE SHALL BE PREPARED, COMPACTED AND PROTECTED AS PER SECTION S-205 OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS.
5. SOME AREAS WILL REQUIRE SITE GRADING TO PROVIDE POSITIVE DRAINAGE. SITE GRADING IS NOT CONSIDERED A SEPARATE PAY ITEM.
6. DO NOT ALLOW WATER TO POND WITHIN ROADWAY. IMMEDIATELY BACK FILL UNDERCUT AREAS. GRADE AREAS OF EXCAVATION TO DRAIN
DAILY AND IN ADVANCE OF RAIN.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE ON SITE DURING CONSTRUCTION OPERATION PROPER EQUIPMENT REQUIRED TO INSURE SUFFICIENT
COMPACTION OF COURSES (LAYERS) IE: SHEEPS FOOT ROLLER, PNEUMATIC RUBBER TIRE ROLLER(S), FARM TRACTOR(S) WITH DISK,
DOZER(S), WATER TRUCK & ROAD GRADER(S). SEE SECTION S-108.05 OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS.
8. NO COURSE (LAYER) SHALL BE COVERED WITHOUT APPROVAL FROM THE ENGINEER REGARDLESS OF RESULTS FROM DENSITY TEST.
9. IF DETERMINED BY THE ENGINEER THAT IN-PLACE MATERIALS ARE TOO WET, DUE TO WEATHER, ALL HAULING OPERATIONS SHALL BE HALTED.
10. EACH COURSE (LAYER) SHALL BE SHAPED TO REQUIRED SECTION, WATERED OR AERATED AS NECESSARY TO PRODUCE THE REQUIRED
MOISTURE & COMPACTION THROUGHOUT THE OPERATION.
11. TOPSOIL STRIPPED FROM CONSTRUCTION LIMITS AND USED FOR SLOPE TREATMENT WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
FOR UNCLASSIFIED EXCAVATION ONLY.
12. ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES, PLASTIC DRUMS, CONES, ETC., SHALL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE MUTCD AND BE APPROVED BY THE
ENGINEER PRIOR TO USE.
13. THE LOCATION AND SPACING OF SIGNS SHOWN ON THE TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN ARE APPROXIMATE AND MAY BE ADJUSTED AS NECESSARY TO
FIT FIELD CONDITIONS.
14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH THE ENGINEER COPIES OF ALL WARRANTIES, GUARANTIES, CERTIFIED TEST REPORTS, CERTIFICATES OF
COMPLIANCE, MIX DESIGNS, ETC., FOR ALL MATERIALS TO BE USED IN THE WORK, IN ADVANCE OF THE TIME OF PROPOSED USE, AS PER SECTION

GENERAL NOTES:

2. CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES SUCH AS SIGNS, BARRICADES, CONES, DRUMS, LIGHTS,
FLASHERS, AND PROVIDE FLAGGERS AS REQUIRED TO SAFEGUARD AND DIRECT TRAFFIC. (WHENEVER FLAGGERS
ARE USED, INSTALL "FLAGGER AHEAD" SIGN EXCEPT DURING BRIEF PERIODS, OR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS.)
3. THE SIGNS AND DEVICES REQUIRED HEREON ARE A MINIMUM REQUIREMENT AND IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY
AND OBLIGATION OF THE CONTRACTOR TO DETERMINE AND PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL DEVICES REQUIRED TO

6. PAY FOR INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE AND REMOVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES WILL BE MADE UNDER PAY

7. CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL ADVANCE WARNING SIGNS SUCH AS - WATCH FOR TRUCKS, TRUCKS TURNING, TRUCKS
CROSSING, ETC. AND PLACE FLAGGERS AS DIRECTED BY THE LSBP ENGINEER ALONG PUBLIC ROADS ON EACH SIDE
OF BORROW PIT ENTRANCE OR CROSSING OF PUBLIC ROADS.
