Lightboxes have proven to be a particularly effective way to increase visibility and captivate consumer attention.

Generate sales & improve brand awareness

Research suggests that illuminated graphics can increase sales by approximately 30%. In the first instance a lightbox will attract attention,

Our LED illumination goes beyond putting a light behind a graphic.

We closely control the manufacture of every element within our Lightboxes, ensuring critical

considerations such as heat dissipation, flux binning, colour temperature and much more

are managed effectively, resulting in a display that creates maximum visual impact whilst providing longevity and high performance.

Lightbox Types

Our extensive range of lightboxes allow us to put forward the right product for the job in hand. The selection process is dependent on the application and the criteria set by our clients, which is why we have spent time developing various ways to fit

each and every brief, without compromising on quality.

BacklitOur backlit lightboxes are

available with a variety of LED options mounted the the back

panel, which are specified depending on a few factors

including light output required and power consumption .

Edge LitCreated using our in-house laser-etching machine, each Light Guide Plate (LGP) we

create features a custom algorithmically-controlled dot

pattern, resulting in optimal light output, and even distribution, at

incredibly thin depths.

Side-FireIntegrated into a Lightbox’s interior channel, high power side-fire LEDs fitted with an optic lens that project light

further and focus light evenly across graphics, whilst providing the ability to flat-pack the entire

display as there is no back-panel.

VideoUtilising individually addressable

LEDs within close proximity of one another allows for the

creation of stunning illuminated displays that can change colour,

pulsate, and display custom video content.

LED Options

As a UK-based manufacturer of modular LED lighting solutions, we are able to produce lightboxes specifically designed to meet the needs of the project in hand. Our lightboxes can be made with a

variety of LED light engines, whether that be utilising a standard flexible PCB or a custom designed rigid PCB, our experts are on hand to talk you through the optimum solution.

Eco

Our 12V 2.4W per m flexible PCB is our most economic light engine option. With 30 LEDs per m, it is available as standard in 6500k, other colour

temperatures by request, and has a CRI of 80.

Eco+

Our 12V 4.8W per m flexible PCB is a cost-effective solution for back-lit lightboxes requiring a higher light output than the Eco. With 60 LEDs per m, it is available as standard in 6500k, other colour temperatures by request, and has a CRI of 80. Eco+ can be used for

window displays, where higher impact is required.

Eco Power

Eco Power provides the highest output of our flexible PCBs for backlit lightboxes. It is populated with 120 LEDs per m and has a power consumption of 9.6W/m. Eco Power is best suited for applications that require greater impact such as window displays. Available as standard in 6500k, other colour

temperatures by request, it has a CRI of 80.

OptiForm BL

A 24V 15W/m rigid PCB designed by Lumenal for use in our back-lit lightboxes, using optics together with high power LEDs to spread the light wider so that less LEDs are required – only 9 LEDs per meter. Fully dimmable, so brightness and power consumptions can be tailored to suit the application. Available in 6500K as standard with a CRI of 80. This rigid PCB has been designed to enable our lightboxes to be flat-packed for cost-effective

distribution.

OptiForm SF

Developed by Lumenal specifically for use in our double sided Ledge 105 lightbox. This PCB is populated with 10 high output LEDs per m, 5700k and CRI 80 as standard. Each diode is fitted with an optic to project the light and enable even distribution across

the space between graphics.

Edge PCB

At Lumenal (sister company to Unibox) we design and develop our own 24V PCBs for use specifically within our edge-lit lightboxes. This range of PCBs is populated with 126 diodes per m, colour temperature 5700k as standard with a CRI of 80. Depending on the size and level of light output required, a light guide plate will be lit along one or two edges with this

style of PCB.

Eco Edge

Eco Edge is a flexible PCB used in some of our edge-lit lightboxes, specifically Ledge 22 and Ledge 50. Due to its application, it is a high power option with 120 LEDs per meter and with a power consumption of 19.2W/m. Available in CRI 80 and 6000K as standard, although other colour temperatures are

available on request.

Our Finishes

Our aluminium profiles are manufactured with an anodised silver finish already applied. Although this is popular with alot of our clients, we prefer not to be constrained by ‘standard’ finishes. In fact, we have perfected a vast range of finishes that provide various visual aesthetics and are immediately available for manufacture. Just speak to us for a full run-through of what’s available.

Custom Finishes

We’ve been working hard on our finishes to make sure that we can offer our clients a wide range that are inherently eco-friendly. We use aluminium profile for a number of reasons, including for it’s recyclable properties. We can match almost any design or desired effect to an aluminium profile, using a unique process of sublimation printing, which creates an incredibly authentic appearance.

We can now achieve an extremly detailed timber grain finish without cutting down any trees!

Combining a texture, base colour and a custom laminate, which is heat transferred directly onto the aluminium profile, these effects are baked directly to the metal, meaning they’re as hard-wearing

as the aluminium itself.

Magnetik Display System

In spaces large & small, maximising sales, footfall, or awareness, is always a consideration. Magnetik was created with this in mind, allowing illuminated graphics to combine with an invisible magnetic system, to increase the visibility of products and information.

Using adjustable, internally-fixed magnets, and a range of accessories (including the ability to create custom fixings), displays can be immediately updated to suit new Lightbox graphics or promotional displays.

Developed to give you completely even illumination, no matter where the magnets are positioned - clever!

Kinetik Video Lightbox

Create intrigue! Embellish static graphics with a digital texture, create artowrk that commands attention and bring imagery to life with animation.

Kinetik allows a high resolution printed fascia to be combined with dynamic video content or variable coloured light via addressable LED modules positioned behind the textile fascia.

Whether used for subtle or dramatic effect, Kinetik offers our clients a more cost-effective way to promote specific messages than with traditional screens or LCD technology.

Creating an animated backdrop is easy with Kinetik, whether it’s fireworks or moving sky, you can change the video behind

the imagery as often as you wish with our integrated LED technology.

Soft, low resolution animation is produced using advanced software. First we take video content and break it down into frames, which are further broken down into grid-like sections. Each diode in the module represents a pixel in the same way a TV screen is made up of pixles. In Kintetik, the pixels are 10mm apart.

Each section is attributed to a pixel which are each programmed frame by frame in sequence so that a moving image is created when all the pixels are running concurrently.

All of the data can be saved and stored on a single memory card that plugs directly into the lightbox, making it extremely easy to update both textile prints and video content as the seasons change.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:

The overall size of the Kinetik lightbox must factor in the modular size of the LED panels. Each module measures 320mm x 160mm and can be positioned in a landscape or portrait orientation.

The extruded aluminium frame also adds 30mm to the overall height and width.

Flat-pack lightboxes.

Some of our lightboxes are available as a flat-pack solution to enable our customers to reduce the volume and therefore costs associated with

logistics whilst also minimising their carbon footprint.

Better still, we’ve developed our flat-pack lightboxes to be assembled easily with only one

tool required!

In the example above, when packed fully assembled the lightbox measures 0.67 m3. However, when the lightbox is flat-packed, the parcel only

measures 0.096 m3.

Flat-packed items are also far more suitable to be handled by overnight courier services, whereas fully assembled items are more likely to need dedicated vehicles to ensure they

are delivered undamaged.

Using the example above, sending the lightbox flat-packed equates to approximately a 600% saving on shipping costs!*.

*Example caluculated based on the lightbox being shipped on a next day delivery service from Manchester to London.

All textiles are supplied with sewn-in silcon edging which allows quick & easy application into the light box frame and use special back-lit fabrics, specifically

formulated for illuminated applications. These ensure that when light is applied to the rear of the graphic, the light is diffused evenly so that hot spots are not visible and the vibrancy of the graphics are enhanced rather than washed out. However there are two

printing processes available.

UV Printing

UV printing involves an inkjet process whereby once the ink is apllied the fabric, it is cured under a ultra-violet light, ensuring that the ink is dried onto the top layer almost

immediately, resulting in a high definition print as the ink doesn’t have time to spread or bleed into the fabric.

Generally, UV printing is considered to give you a more vibrant effect and allows you to achieve a better contrast, meaning darker colours are richer.

Dye Sublimation

Dye sublimated printing is a two-step process. Firstly the graphic or image is printed onto the fabric and then bonded (or sublimated) into the fabric, generating a much

more durable printed textile, which is perfect for fabrics that are destined to be handled more.

We recommend Dye Sublimated printing for textiles that will be handled many times and for all our Magnetik light boxes, to ensure the image remains in place even when

shelves and hooks accessories constantly being moved about.

Our textile-faced lightboxes are created using two different printing processes. The choice depends on the application.

Accepted File Formats

It is preferred to receive a file as a high res PDF.

We accept files in the following applications:Photoshop, & Illustrator.

(If you send via an open application, please ensure you supply us with the high res files, outline all fonts and

embed all images).

Artwork Settings

Please enure you apply a 25mm bleed to all sides of your image. It is also recommended that you leave an extra 20mm ‘safe area’ - a border free of important imagery or text, just in case the fabric needs to be

trimmed during the printing process.Please supply all graphics at full scale wherever

possible. When a graphic is large format, some scaling might be neccessary to reduce the file size. If you’re unsure, please do gives a call an we’ll be happy to

advise.

Image Resolution

Image resolution depends of the distance between the subject and where it is

viewed from. We recommend that you aim for 300dpi where possible. However for larger format graphics, please use the

following as a rough guide: Less than 4 feet away = 100dpi

4 to12 feet away = 72dpi12 feet and above = 36dpi

Colours

Images need to be supplied in CMYK (except for photographic images,

which should be supplied set up as RGB).
