LEARNING AND TEACHING STRATEGYThis unit comprises of a series of technical instruction sessions that introduce students to Final Cut Pro, as used by industry professionals to produce moving fashion imagery and film. This will provide students with appropriate skills enabling them to produce work that demonstrates their understanding and ability of post-production processes relating to moving image and fashion film.

Alongside the technical instruction students receive studio-based tuition in digital camera work to record moving image and lighting for both studio and location. Jointly the information technology and studio sessions will equip students with the initial practice-based transferable skills required to complete the tasks in related units at level 5 and level 6.

ASSESSMENT STRATEGY Summative assessment will be based on the completion of a digital portfolio that demonstrates students’ skills and understanding in relation to the learning outcomes. This will provide students with an opportunity to put into practice what they have learned. The studies will culminate in a digital portfolio that demonstrates the student’s understanding of and ability in practice of the software programme used for post-production processes of fashion film and moving image.

Formative feedback will be staged at regular intervals and will include both peer and self-assessment strategies. Students will be provided with regular opportunities to discuss their project work with their technical instructors and tutors.
