She is really a source of inspiration for all of us in many ways. Meanwhile a mail received from the SGS representative and some instructions were shared internationally that all clients whose RCA & Surveillance audits are due in 2017 they must go for an early transition with emphasis that the initial leverage of early RCA in 2018 has been cancelled. This news was taken as a challenge by the top management and the team. Major challenges in front of the Highnoon Team were; Determination of Organizational Gaps with respect to new requirements of ISO 9001:2015 Understanding the Context of the Organization Training of the Staff Revision of Quality Manuals Implementation of Risk Management System Internal Audits to check the compliance of new requirements Management Review Action Plan was defined against all these challenges and changes implemented accordingly. By the grace of Almighty Allah a successful audit was held with just a single Minor Non-Conformance (NC) and a certificate of ISO 9001:2015 was issued. Transition to ISO 9001:2015 was not that simple but the timely decision of the top management and commitment from each individual made that journey simple and smooth in a shortest period of time. The credit goes to the team for efforts and the top management to delegate the authority and motivating team towards a common goal. CONGRATULATIONS & WELL DONE! Its been almost two years since we launched women forum to strengthen our female employees and to boost their confidence helping them to

be equally important pillar of the Organization. We feel proud to have female Executives in leading roles of various departmental functions of the Company.

This time this was none other than Ms. Roshane Zafar MD, Kashaf Foundation who chaired the Women Forum meeting. Ms. Roshaneh Zafar is a graduate of the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, USA and also holds a Masters degree in Development Economics from Yale University, USA. She has been the recipient of many international and national awards, including Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, one of Pakistan’s highest civilian awards. She is also on the board of other

not-for profit organizations including Sahil, Women’s World Banking and Karvaan Krafts, and Director on the Board of Engro Foods.

She explained how women themselves are reluctant to see beyond glass ceiling. She said glass ceiling is a delicate barrier yet so strong that it prevents women from moving up the corporate hierarchy due to their lack of confidence and being unaware of their inner potential. However she appreciated Highnoon’s contribution towards women development by providing them opportunities to perform their duties at the level of senior management positions in various departments. She stressed for

the need of women self actualization and emphasized that there is no force that can make a women feel inferior without her consent.

She encouraged the participants to stand up, stand out and put their best to rise and shine with Rising Highnoon.

Recently we conducted several high profile activities in Afghanistan which not only helped us improving image of the company but also boosted moral of the team. During Product Manager’s Afghanistan tour, we conducted a local speaker

program on Asthma Management in Hotel Barg Continental , which was attended by around 50 Pulmonologist, Physicians, and GPs. National Sales Manager, Mr. Abdul Qayum welcomed participants to the scientific session. Pulmonologist, Dr. Rahimullah Rahimi presented latest GINA guidelines on the clinical management of asthma. Various questions were answered by the speaker and a panel of experts comprising of senior doctors. All the doctors appreciated this program and mentioned that it provided a great opportunity for mutual learning and interaction. Before closing the session, Product Manager, Mohammad Sultan thanked all the doctors for their active participation in the program and ensured that such activities will be continued in future as well. Another program was organized in Amiri Complex, Kabul where Pulmonologist,

Dr. Daud Habi guided doctors on how to clinically treat COPD as per the latest guidelines. The program was chaired by the Director of Amiri Complex Prof. Dr. Mir Wais Amiri and was attended by more than 40 doctors from various specialties belonging to the institute.

After a very detailed and elaborative presentation on various aspects of COPD like its definition, symptoms, complications, diagnosis, disease stages, and treatment options by the speaker, participants asked various questions which were answered by the speaker and members of panel, Dr. Mir Wais Amiri, and Dr. Gowind. At the end, National Sales Manager, Mr. Abdul Qayum thanked all the doctors for sparing their precious time and assured that Highnoon will continue to sponsor such scientific activities in future as well. The team has a proper follow up plan in place and is all geared up to boost prescriptions and sales of Combivair, Tiovair, and Tiovair-F in the targeted areas. Next destination was Jalalabad where we conducted a slide presentation on Trial Evaluating Cardiac Outcomes with Sitagliptinö in Type 2 Diabetes Patients. Cardiologist, Dr. Shafiullah Shagiwal presented slides from the TECOS study while Dr.Zalmi Sahibzada and Dr. Haji Zalmi Khogianewal were members of the panel of experts. Dr. Shafiullah in his detailed presentation covered

various topics related to diabetes like its definition, complications, diabetes patients with cardiovascular complications and the safety of Sitagliptin in such patients as per different stages of their disease. The program ended with a vote of thanks by the Product Manager and was followed by a dinner for all participants.

Next two days were dedicated to the launch training of Misar, Rosulin, and Tiovair-F in Kabul. The training was attended by our Territory Managers from Kabul, Jalalabad, Khost, and Ghazni. Product Manager, Mohammad Sultan provided a detailed account of Hypertension & Hypercholesterolemia and drugs used for the treatment of Hypertension and lowering cholesterol. The Product Manager also shared promotional strategies and market insights with the team which were very well received by the team. The team showed their commitment and readiness for the mega event launch of Misar and Rosulin in Afghanistan.

We also arranged a brief refresher

on Tiovair-F for our Respiratory team in Kabul. Our colleagues from Khost, Ghazni, and Jalalabad also attended the session. All Territory Managers were briefed on the new GOLD guidelines recommending Tiovair-F from stage B of COPD. The team is now ready to boost prescriptions and enhance sales by adding Tiovair-F to its Respiratory portfolio in Afghanistan.

A training session on Cystone was also arranged for our colleagues from Route2 Health, an associated company of Highnoon Laboratories. This session was attended by Route2 Territory Managers from Kabul,Ghazni, Khost, Jalalabad, and Gardez. At the end of this session, our team member were highly comfortable with the disease background, product’s mode of action, as well as with the market strategies and selling tools and techniques developed by the Product Manager.

Overall, it was a vey busy and productive quarter for the team and the results of all these team efforts are bound to come in near future.

Afghanistan...on Road of Success

1. Never give me work in the morning. Always wait until 5:00 and then bring it to me. The challenge of a deadline is always refreshing.

2. Always leave without telling anyone where you’re going. It gives me a chance to be creative when someone asks where you are.

3. If you give me more than one job to do, don’t tell me which is the priority. Let me guess.

4. Do your best to keep me late. I like the office and really have nowhere

to go or anything to do.

5. If a job I do pleases you, keep it a secret. Leaks like that could get me a promotion.

6. If you don’t like my work, tell everyone. I like my name to be popular in conversations.

7. If you have special instructions for a job, don’t write them down.

In fact, save them until the job is almost done.
