Step 1 – Run Cognos Configuration

1. To run Cognos Configuration execute the below command,

1. Go to cd /usr/cognos/c8/bin

2. execute /.cogconfig.sh

2. For Windows based server,

1. Start-> All Programs->IBM Cognos 8 -> IBM Cognos Configuration

1. In the Explorer window, select Authentication under Security Tab. Right click, then Click on Create Name Space.

2. Specify the name as IBM. Click on OK

3. Fill the Following Properties in the Properties Window as specified in below screenshots.

1. Type : LDAP

2. Namespace ID : IBM

3. Host and port : bluepages.ibm.com:389

4. Base Distinguished name : O=ibm.com

5. User lookup : (&(objectclass=person)(mail=${userID})(c=in))

4. Folder Mappings (Advanced):

1. Object Class : organizationalunit,ibmCC

2. Name : ou,c

5. Custom Properties

1. Click on edit tab in the Value column

2. Click on Add button, Enter values in Name and Value as below

1. Name = notesShortName Value=notesShortName

2. Name = notesId Value=notesShortName

Step 2 – Create a new namespace

Create a new namespace by right clicking Authentication folder

Step 3 – Modify Cognos Namespace Properties

Set the Value of Allow anonymous access = False

Step 4 – Modify Gateway namespace properties

1. Enter the value of Gateway Namespace=IBM

2. Set value of Allow namespace override=True

Step 5 – Modify Portal Service Component Properties

Enter Trusted Signon Namespace ID = IBM

Step 6 – Save the configuration and Restart the Cognos Server

Click to Save the Configuration

Click to Restart the Cognos Server

Once the Cognos server is restarted, We can login to the Cognos Connection using IBM intranet ID and

Password
