Long term engineering service agreement; turndown study to downsize operations; turnaround engineering, and expansion study.

Musreau Gas PlantPembina Pipeline CorporationAlberta, CanadaLauren Concise was awarded the engineering and procurement contract for a new refrigeration unit plant capable of processing 50 MMSCFD (1,416 e³m³/d) of inlet feed gas and 800 bbl/d (127.2 m³/d) of condensate. The refrigeration unit is expected to produce 49 MMSCFD (1,388 e³m³/d) of lean sales gas, 134 bbl/d (21.3 m³/d) of LPG and 900 bbl/d (143.1 m³/d) of stabilized condensate.

Wild RiverFairborne Energy Ltd.Alberta, CanadaLauren Concise conducted a study to determine if plant could process increased production from 40 MMSCFD. Determined 60MMSCFD could be processed by modifying low temperature separator.

Dilly Creek Pilot and Padsite Development Nexen Inc.British Columbia, CanadaLauren Concise provided engineering, procurement and construction management for the development of a compressor station pilot program in the Horn River Basin of north eastern British Columbia. The project included installation of two wellsite facilities, a gas gathering pipeline and central compression and dehydration facility. The compressor station was designed to process 141 EBm³/day of gas and expandable to 350 EBm³/day.

Doris EastNexen Inc.British Columbia, CanadaLauren Concise provided engineering services for the Doris East project which consisted of 18 CBM multi well pad sites. Majority of sites have 4 horizontal CBM gas producing wells. Six of eighteen pad sites have salt water disposal facilities complete with vapor recovery systems. Project includes all feeder pipe-lines and common trunk lines. Project included Flexsteel pipelines for gas and HDPE for water.

WetaskiwinNexen Inc.Alberta, CanadaLauren Concise provided engineering services for the design of (2) compressor sites, 16 well sites, feeder pipelines and common trunk lines. Project included both steel and polyethylene pipelines.

Many Islands Gas PlantNexen Inc.Alberta, CanadaLauren Concise provided engineering services for a booster compression addition which involved the addition of (2) 1475 HP Waukesha L7042GL/Kobelco KS32LLNB Screw type booster compressors and associated piping to install upstream of the existing reciprocating compressors.

CliveFairborne Energy Ltd.Alberta, CanadaThe project consists of the reutilized part of an existing gas compression facility to process coal bed methane (CBM). Phase 1 involved swinging some of the existing sweet gas away from the sour solution gas stream utilizing the stand alone modular compressor. Phase 2 involved decoupling the sweet gas entirely from the sour gas stream. Phase 3 involved bringing CBM production on stream and processing it for sale.

A new electric drive gas compressor and electrostatic treater were added to the facility to increase production from 300 m³/d (1,900 bbl/d) oil and 15 e³m³/d (0.532 MMscfd) gas to 950 m³/d (6,000 bbl/d) oil and 60 e³m³/d (2.13 MMscfd) gas.

The project required 26,00 man-hours and was completed under budget at a total installed cost of $28.5 million.

The battery was designed to take trucked in or pipeline production. Surplus equipment was used extensively to achieve early production in a 9 month period.

Pelican LakeEncanaAlberta, CanadaLauren Concise was involved in the initial design and construction and continued to work on the properties from 1997-2006, which included an expansion and optimization. The main facility is a cold heavy oil facility designed to handle 6,360 m³/d, 14º to 18º API gravity oil, and 6,100 m³/d produced water. Gas volumes are 1100 m³/d. Produced oil and water storage tanks complete with 2,150 HP VRU’s, additional pumps and exchangers.

Winter VAPEXNexen Inc.Alberta, CanadaLauren Concise provided engineering and procurement services for a 1,000 m³/d fluid handling and transfer, 48e³m³/d vapex injection (C1/C3 mix) pilot plant including wellhead and process design. Joslyn Creek SAGD FacilityTotal E&P Canada Ltd.Alberta, CanadaThe Joslyn Creek Facility was built to produce 10,000 BOPD of SAGD bitumen throughput. Lauren Concise provided EPCM services to execute a detailed debottleneck study, turnaround and upgrade to expand production to 15,000 BOPD. The scope of work included revising padsites to enable oil to reach the main processing facility, upgraded the facilities to be MARP compliant, SCN diluent design and implementation, wellpad expansion design, HVAC system, flare system redesign, new incinerator, designed and installed closed drain system, installation of BFW exchangers, installed new pop vessel and header, redesign of VRU system, PVRV’s for tank farm, tank vapour line redesign, chemical addition system for boilers, evaporator and crystallization optimization.

Wolf Lake & Primrose SAGD/CSS FacilityCanadian Natural Resources Ltd.Alberta, CanadaLauren Concise was the EPCM contractor for CNRL’s Primrose and Wolf Lake thermal heavy oil operations located in northeastern Alberta.
