Step 3 Work Placement

Once you have completed your training, you will be placed with one of our industry partners to do an internship (if you are eligible) or work placement for between 4 – 8 weeks.

Mentorship and Support

During your work placement, you will be linked with a mentor in the work place to help you settle into to your work environment. BTG’s Trainer will also be available to support you throughout your journey to ensure that you move into each stage feeling comfortable and confident.

Step 4 Employment

Once you have successfully completed your training and work placement, and proved yourself to be a reliable and valuable potential employee, you will be able to start work.

This will take one day and will help you decide if you would like to pursue a career in this industry. We will take you through ‘A day in the life of a support worker’, plus other activites to help you decide if this is the right career path for you.

To be eligible for this program:1. 17 to 24 years old2. Linked with jobactive, Disability Employment

Service or Transition to Work3. Physically fit

In addition to this you will need a:1. National Police Clearance2. Working with Children Check 3. Driver’s Licence [preferable]
