Scout and Jem are talked about bymost of the people in Maycombabout the Tom Robinson case. Scoutone day asks Atticus a question thatleads to her telling them about goingto Calpurnia church. **Scout asksAtticus if she can go to Calpurniashome, but Aunt Alexandra says no.Which causes Atticus and her toargue. Later Jem takes Scout to hisroom, and he tries to persuade herinto not being so rude to AuntAlexandra, but they ended upfighting, having Atticus to break itup. After they were sent to theirrooms Scout comes back to Jemsroom saying she felt a snake underher bed. They go investigate just tofind out its Dill. He ran away fromhome hoping to hide at there house.But to Dills surprise Jem tells onhim. Atticus tells his aunt andsurprisingly let s him stay the night.

Summary: In Ch. 28, Scout is dressed asa ham hock for the school play and istaken by Jem. While walking towardsthe school as the day grows darker,they walk by the oak tree and both of them get scared by Cecil Jacobs, astudent from school. As they make it tothe school Jem leaves Scout with Cecilto go with kids his own age, (anothersign of growing up) and play. Scout and

Jem play around with the thirty centsthey both got to play 6 games. Afterawhile its time for the play to start, by

during the middle of it Scout fallsasleep, missing her cue. Towards theend of the play she gets scold by Mrs.Merriweather. Scout is tooembarrassed and makes Jem staylonger till all the people leave.As they get closer to home, they getattack by a mystery man. But they arealso soon saved by another man, whoat the end of the chapter carries himback home with scout following closebehind.
