Last Training Courses of 2013
Recognizing the need to accommodate multiple learningstyles and extend learning beyond the classroom, APIC offers in-depth, interactive, live courses for infection prevention training.
APIC’s live courses are held in conjunction with each other,twice a year in the spring and fall. This offers the attendeea chance to attend multiple courses while minimizing cost andtime away from the office. Along with the classroom training,these courses offer invaluable networking opportunities toconnect with other healthcare professionals who face the sameconcerns.
EDUCATION FOR THE PREVENTION OF INFECTION (EPI�)
EPI� courses are recommended for infection preventionists(IPs), including registered nurses (RNs), nurse epidemiologists,medical technologists (MTs), and those who train other healthcareproviders, working in any healthcare setting.
Through EPI�, attendees will learn to create and effectivelymanage their infection prevention programs by gaining tools tocomply with state and federal regulations impacting infectionprevention in healthcare settings, become part of a network of IPsto problem solve, understand how to meet Joint Commissionrequirements, and begin the critical path to becoming boardcertified in infection control (CIC).

EPI� courses are offered in two different experience levels, EPI�
101 (novice) and EPI� 201 (intermediate). Both levels consist ofa 3-day live classroom portion and an online portion following theclassroom segment. The fall course dates are:

INFECTION PREVENTION FOR AMBULATORY SURGERYCENTERS
This course is designed specifically for anyone working in anambulatory surgery center, including nurses, doctors, administra-tors, and anyone who is responsible for the implementation orsupervision of infection prevention functions.
The Infection Prevention for Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)course teaches you how to build and manage an effective infectionprevention program, understand regulatory requirements, reducerisk, and better protect patients.
The ASC course consists of a 2-day live classroom setting and anonline portion following the classroom segment. The fall coursedates are:
