FAMILY OF PARISHES NEWS UPDATE
nous». Par conséquent, «nous pouvons changer le
monde».
Pentecost Reflection: The coming of the Holy Spirit
upon the Apostles is a well-known,
beautiful story of awe and wonder.
As promised by Jesus, the Holy
Spirit would proceed from the
Father and the Son and they would
be adored and glorified. The Spirit
of the Lord would fill the lives of all
believers with the power and gifts to
follow Jesus and to proclaim the Good News of salvation
to the ends of the earth.
Last year, on the Feast of Pentecost, Bishop Fabbro
announced a Year of Prayer in the Diocese of London.
He encouraged us to pray to the Holy Spirit that we would
take on the mission of making Disciples of Christ by our
example of faith and our outreach to others. On
Thursday, May 21st, a nine-day novena was encouraged
so that, as we come officially to the end of this Year of
Prayer, we might take up our mission with renewed heart,
mind and soul.
Our lives have been drastically impacted by COVID19.
Never could we have imagined living as we are at this
time in history – isolated from others. The wonderful
news is that by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are
continuing to learn how to reach out in new ways to our
families, friends, neighbours and needy in our midst and
in our world. The world has changed and we are
changing too!
May the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which we
celebrate at Pentecost, renew our conviction that
“Jesus lives within us”. Therefore, “we can
change the world.”

Social Media/Tech Team: These are unprecedented
times which call for new creative ways of being
and connecting to people! We are still being
called to reach out to people and fulfill the
mission of the church! This is a time of uncertainty
without a doubt but also a time of unexpected
opportunities! We are looking for innovative “out of the
box” thinkers that are gifted in regards to online social
media venues and are willing to brainstorm ways to help
us navigate the new norms! If you,

Churches are essential… we already knew that.
When the faithful are scattered in every age due to persecution, disaster or plague,
We persist in worship and service, in sacrament and sacrifice –
Feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, welcoming the stranger,
being good news for the poor, working to free the captives and oppressed.
Our highest and holy calling is to be church, not go to church.
