Bible Study: It’s not too late to
participate! Everyone is welcome to come
to learn about the Book of Acts based on a
program designed by Jeff Cavins. Join us
Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm at Sacred
Heart Church. There is no cost for this Bible Study which
is hosted by Fr. Ray and his team of volunteers. An
optional workbook is available for $50. Please call the
parish office if you have questions.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: This Friday, parishioners are encouraged to
“spend some quiet reflective time with Jesus in praise and thanksgiving for His presence”. Adoration will begin immediately following the 9:15am Mass at St. Joseph and will conclude at 2pm. A sign-up sheet will ensure that someone will be present with Jesus throughout the day.
Adoration takes place every Tuesday at St. Paul Church from 10am to 1pm.

at Sacred Heart on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 10am to 6pm.

Communion to the Homebound: On the first Friday of each month, the Pastoral Team members bring Holy Communion to those who are not able to attend Mass due to illness, recovery from surgery or undergoing cancer treatments. If you would like a visit from one of the priests or from one of the Pastoral Ministers, please contact the parish office.
Family of Parishes News Update
Confirmation Registration: This is the final weekend to register candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Registration takes place after each of the Masses at Sacred Heart and St. Paul. You may register your son or daughter at either parish. Please bring a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate if they were not baptized at one of our 3 parishes, as well as the program fee of $50.

Leadership Introductions: Next weekend, the leadership team of our Family of Parishes will be introduced at every celebration of the Eucharist.

Annual Priests’ Workshop: All the priests in our Diocese are required to attend a three day workshop with our Bishops from Monday through Wednesday of this week. Please note that the daily Masses are cancelled on Tuesday and Wednesday. All emergencies should be directed to the secretary at the parish office. Remember the clergy in your prayers this week, especially those who are celebrating special anniversaries of ordination – 25, 40, 50, 60 and 65 years of priesthood.
Extraordinary Mission Month: Thank you very much for your generous contribution to last week’s World Mission Sunday collection. This support is a blessing for the Bishops, the Priests, the Sisters, the Brothers and the Lay Catechists
who depend on this help from the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. Please continue to pray for those who serve in mission countries so that they may remain steadfast in their vocation to bring Christ’s message of love to those they serve.
The office will be closed Thursday morning! Bishop Fabbro has requested that all of the staffs from the three local Families of Parishes join him at St. John Vianney Church. The “East Windsor Family of Parishes”, the “North Central Family of Parishes” and the “LaSalle River Canard Family of Parishes” will be together with our Bishop. The gathering includes the Pastoral and Clerical Staff as well as the Caretakers of each of our churches .

Migrant Dinner: Last Sunday, a number of volunteers from our three parishes organized and hosted a Thanksgiving Dinner for the migrant workers in our area. Twenty workers were present, along with a number of representatives from our Family of Parishes. Our guests were “very appreciative” of the gathering and enjoyed our Canadian Thanksgiving meal. Thank you to all who helped make this event a success, especially to the volunteers responsible for the set-up, service and clean-up. God bless you.
New Family of Parishes Website: Our new
Family of Parishes website is currently
under construction. We are working on
having internet traffic to our 3 parishes
directed to the new site and hope to have
it available very soon. We appreciate
your patience.
Remembrance Month: November is the traditional month when we remember our beloved deceased. We ask that you participate in your parish’s special way of remembering your loved one.
Gluten Free: If you are a parishioner who has an allergy to gluten, please identify yourself at Mass or by calling the office.

All Souls Mass: An All Souls
Mass for our Family of Parishes will be celebrated at St. Paul Parish on Tuesday, November 5th at 6:30pm. Parishioners who have family members who have passed away between November 2018 and October 2019 are specially invited to attend this special Mass honouring their deceased loved ones.
Une Messe pour notre Famille de paroisses pour commémorer les défunts de nos familles sera célébrée à la paroisse St. Paul le mardi, 5 novembre à 18h30. Les paroissiens dont les membres de la famille sont décédés entre novembre 2018 et octobre 2019 sont spécialement invités à assister à cette Messe à la mémoire de leurs
proches décédés.
Hallowe’en Celebration: Youth, preteens and teens are invited to gather for an open Hallowe’en Celebration! There will be pumpkin carving and pizza, followed by a movie with popcorn and treats. This is a drop-in anytime event from 4pm - 8pm (pizza served from 5:30pm - 6pm) on Monday, October 28th at St. Joseph Parish. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend!!

do not have envelopes and would like some for 2020, please contact Ruth at the parish office as soon as possible. Pre-Authorized Debit is also available by filling out a form found at all entrances (in envelopes labelled PAD Registration) or downloaded at www.lasallerivercanardfamily.dol.ca. Remember to
advise the parish office when you move so that your
correspondence and tax receipts are sent to the
correct address.

Pledge Campaign: We have finished two years
of our three-year pledge campaign. As of October
21st, 2019, we have received pledges totaling
$233,211 of our goal of $300,000. Those who
have pledged, have paid $198,511 of the $233,211
pledged, leaving $34,700 outstanding to be paid in
our last year. Thank you so much for your generous support of
our new addition and elevator.
Fish Fry: Please join us for a Fish Fry dinner in support of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, on Fri., Nov. 1st from 4:30pm - 6:30pm. Included are 2 pieces of fish, fries or baked potato, salad, roll and coffee or tea for $10.00. Pop is available for
$1.00. Tickets will be available for sale at the doors. Please consider coming out to support our local SSVP!

CWL - Care For Our Common Home: The Catholic Women’s League of Canada calls its
members to grow in faith, and to witness to the
love of God through ministry and service.
Our next meeting is on November 12th at 1:30pm at St. Paul’s
Church Hall. All women of our Family of Parishes are welcome
to attend.
Porch Construction: The front steps of the church are currently closed while some water
damaged is assessed and repairs are being made. It is the recommendation of the architect, and
in consultation with the funeral homes, that we no longer have a center rail on the front steps.
Work is scheduled to be completed in a couple of weeks. Please continue to use the new
addition to enter the church.
3rd Annual Pop-Up Holiday Bazaar: Start your Christmas shopping early! Sacred Heart is hosting a Pop-up sale on Saturday, November 9th in the Community Centre from 9am - 4pm. Lots of great vendors, door prizes and baked goods. Donations for the LaSalle Food Bank will also be accepted.

Chicken & Sliders: The Chummette Chicken and Slider dinner will be held on Saturday,
November 16th from 4:30pm – 7:30 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Malden Rd. Tickets
will be sold at the door only. There are limited quantities so get there early. Price is $15. See you
there!
Turkey Dinner & Bazaar: The Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Women’s League is hosting a
fall bazaar on Sunday, October 27th from Noon - 5pm in the Parish Hall at Holy Name of Jesus
Church in Essex . Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-10 and children under 6
are free. Advance tickets are available at the parish office or at the door. Only 500 tickets available.
Saints & Sinners: The Saints and
Sinners walkathon will be held on
Sunday, November 10th at Malden Park.
This year’s theme is “Walking to
remember the ones that we love”. If you
are unable to walk or would rather ride,
bikes are more than welcome. Register by November 3rd to be
entered in the Early Bird Registration Draw for a great prize!
Pledge forms are available at all the church entrances or
online.
Notre marche-ton annuel aura lieu le dimanche 10 novembre

Marie Rose Place – Tools for your Dream Relationship will be taking
place on Friday, November 1st from 11:30am - 3:30pm. This workshop will give
you the tools to improve, enhance and deepen your relationships, whether in your
marriage, with your children or with your colleagues. Participants will practice the
four essential skills needed to create great relationships in all areas of their lives. The event will be facilitated
by John Sullivan, M.A. The suggested offering for this event is $15, which also includes lunch.
Annual Cemetery Maintenance Collection: Envelopes are in your offertory box and at the church entrances. Please make cheque payable to ‘St. Joseph Parish’ with ‘Cemetery Maintenance’ in the memo line. Thank you for helping maintain St. Joseph Cemetery.
