Assemble the jack handle.Remove the access hole cover with thescrewdriver.Insert the jack handle end through the opening inthe bumper, and into the lowering screw.Turn the jack handle counterclockwise.

Refer to the Owner’s Manual for jack positioning andtire changing procedures.

Automatic transmission

Downshifting increases power going uphill, orprovides engine braking going downhill. For best fueleconomy during normal driving conditions, alwaysdrive with the shift lever in the “D” position.

For starting in sand, mud, ice or snow Depress thebrake, then push “2nd” to start the vehicle insecond gear.

In Power mode, the transmission is shifted up anddown at a higher vehicle speed, and a morepowerful acceleration is achieved. For normaldriving conditions, Toyota recommends using the

Normal mode to improve fuel economy.

SAFETY ANDEMERGENCY FEATURES

If belt is fully extended, then retracted evenslightly, it cannot be re-extended beyond that point,unless fully retracted again. This feature is used tohelp hold child restraint systems securely.
