Every time you start off on a

journey, whether it’s a quiet

weekend away or a quick trip

around town, rest assured —

we’re with you every step

of the way. For more than

50 years, Toyota engineering

has created more than just

durable vehicles. It’s created

enduring memories.

Am I the Land Cruiser type? Don’t assume there’s just one

type. Since 1951, Toyota Land Cruiser has taken all sorts of people

to every corner of the earth. Renowned for its off-road prowess and

reliability, Land Cruiser has been used by photojournalists in the

Middle East, researchers in the Amazon, doctors in Africa, you name

it.... Ultimately, though, Land Cruiser is for anybody in search of real

adventure, one-of-a-kind experiences and journeys that don’t

involve a gift shop. Because what unites Land Cruiser owners isn’t

a background but a belief. A belief that the world is worth exploring.

The 2011 Toyota Land Cruiser. Moving Forward.

Where can it take me?Virtually anywhere. Since its arrival, Toyota’s legendary SUV has visited hundreds of

countries and logged millions of miles on countless different types of terrain. That should

give you lots of confi dence as you contemplate your next expedition. Because few, if any,

other vehicles have Land Cruiser’s nearly 60-year track record of getting intrepid souls to

places others will only ever see in photographs.

5.7L Dual Independent VVT-i V8With all the power and torque on tap in Land Cruiser, even the most

inhospitable terrain seems inviting. Under the hood lies a 5.7-liter

Double Overhead Cam (DOHC) 32-valve V8. Dual Independent Variable

Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) and Acoustic Control Induction

System (ACIS) help the engine produce a whopping 381 hp and 401

lb.-ft. of torque.

Voice-activated DVD navigation system2

You can’t very well stop and ask for directions when you’re the

only person around for miles. So it’s good to know that Land Cruiser

offers an available voice-activated touch-screen DVD navigation

system. It could well be the key to getting back. Other available

features include a backup camera3 and hands-free phone and

music streaming via Bluetooth®4 wireless technology.

SMART KEY SYSTEM1

Searching for adventure beats

hunting for your keys. So when

you approach Land Cruiser

with the Smart Key fob in your

pocket, the interior illuminates

automatically. This hands-free

feature also lets you unlock the

doors when you touch the door

handle and simply push a button

to start the vehicle.

Why does Land Cruiser have such a following? It’s taken people to the ends of all seven continents. More importantly, it’s brought

them back. Land Cruiser loyalty comes from the tales owners have returned to tell.

Those adventures also reveal a Land Cruiser creed: It’s not the one with the most toys

who wins. It’s the one with the most stories.

Page 7: 2011 Land Cruiser

What’s it like driving the Land Cruiser?Luxury, exclusivity, comfort and unparalleled ride quality — all these are apparent the moment you’re

inside Land Cruiser. But the undeniable confi dence you feel behind the wheel owes to something else:

Land Cruiser’s legendary 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) system and a chassis that’s proven itself off road time

and again. When you think about it, luxury and rugged capability are a perfect combination. After all,

you can take the man out of civilization, but you can’t take the civilization out of the man.

LONGEVITY FACT: Excessive heat wreaks havoc on ordinary

transmissions. But Land Cruiser isn’t equipped with a run-of-the-mill

transmission. Its oil cooler’s temperature is regulated by both air and

water — another factor contributing to Land Cruiser’s legendary reliability.

JBL Synthesis® audio systemProviding the soundtrack for your adventures is Land Cruiser’s available

JBL Synthesis® AM/FM 6-disc in-dash CD changer with 14 speakers,

including a subwoofer. It also features XM® Radio1 with a 90-day trial

subscription. Music streaming and hands-free phone capability are made

possible via Bluetooth®2 wireless technology. There’s also an auxiliary

audio jack and a USB3 port with iPod®4 connectivity.

Steering wheel-mounted controlsWithout your hands ever leaving the wheel, you can control Land Cruiser’s

Multi-Information Display, JBL Synthesis® audio system, available

voice-activated DVD navigation system5 and Bluetooth®2 hands-free

phone features.

Wood-grain-style trimLand Cruiser’s wood-grain-style center console, with its leather-trimmed

shift lever, offers more than just a note of refinement. That’s where

the controls for Land Cruiser’s Crawl Control (CRAWL)6 are located.

It’s remarkable to be able to navigate through untamed terrain from such

sophisticated surroundings.

Active Seatbelt Pretensioning SystemLand Cruiser inspires confidence, and this feature is no exception.

When the vehicle detects excessive wheelslip or sudden braking, it helps

to enhance restraining performance for front-seat passengers by

using a motor on the seatbelt retractors that cinches their seatbelts.

What does Land Cruiser’s interior offer? It’s been used in races across the Arctic. As medical transport in Africa. For ranch work in the outback....

Given all the ways people have used Land Cruiser over the years, it’s no surprise the 2011 Land Cruiser’s

interior is both exceptionally versatile and truly comfortable. There’s seating for eight, with plenty of

room for all. And a split-fold design on the second and third rows so you can trade seats for extra cargo

space. Step one: Figure out where you’re headed. Step two: Confi gure as needed.

LONGEVITY FACT: Considering all the comforts inside Land Cruiser,

you might overlook the rugged engineering that’s built into this

vehicle. Case in point: the forged-steel crankshaft, which excels

in rigidity and wear resistance.

Four-zone automatic climate controlWith Land Cruiser’s four-zone automatic climate control, the driver,

front passenger and two second-row passengers can each control their

own individual temperature environments. Twenty-eight vents located

throughout the cabin further enhance everyone’s comforts.

Rear-seat entertainment systemLand Cruiser’s available rear-seat DVD entertainment system makes

even long journeys seem a lot shorter. It features a 9-inch display and

two wireless headphones,1 and allows you to play movies or games

with compatible consoles.

Cooler boxBeneath the armrest on Land Cruiser’s center console, there’s an

available cooler box2 that can accommodate as many as six 12-oz.

water bottles. If you’d spent decades in the dry and dusty Australian

outback, you’d probably come up with something like this yourself.

Memory seats and heated seatsLand Cruiser’s 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat has a memory

function that lets you set it to the individual preferences of three different

drivers. As well, both driver and front passenger seats offer multi-stage

heating — a feature that is also available for the second row.

Page 10: 2011 Land Cruiser

ENDLESS VERSATILITY

The leather-trimmed interior

features a foldaway third-row

seat, taking the overall seating

capacity to eight. But the split/

fold design of the second and

third rows also allows for a

huge range of cargo-carrying

configurations, topping out at

81.7 cubic feet.1 Passengers,

gear or both — it’s up to you.

Land Cruiser shown in Sonora Gold Pearl with available Upgrade Package.

How far has it gone during those nearly 60 years? The fi rst Land Cruiser set out decades ago. In that time it’s traveled to the most remote

places on the planet. But it’s made an even more important journey as well. It’s gone

from being Toyota’s fi rst 4WD vehicle to an icon of rugged reliability trusted around the

globe. That’s one path we intend to keep following.

Page 12: 2011 Land Cruiser

How can Land Cruiser reach all those places? There’s a reason it’s called Land Cruiser. This is a vehicle that easily cruises over

terrain that would stop lesser vehicles in their tracks. Why? Because when you’ve been

tackling extreme environments as long as Land Cruiser has, you learn how to combine

both proven engineering and advanced technologies to help you get where you’re going.

Take a closer look.

Crawl Control (CRAWL)1

Think of this as off-road cruise control. In rough, low-traction situations,

CRAWL takes over the braking and throttle functions, allowing you to

concentrate on steering. Once activated, CRAWL helps negotiate tough

terrain at one of three walking speeds. It helps prevent wheel lock and

wheelspin and reduces pitch, bounce and roll. All of which lessens stress

on the Land Cruiser’s drivetrain — and driver.

Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS)

Traditional suspension systems are tuned to perform well on paved

roads, but they can compromise off-road performance. KDSS

automatically optimizes suspension performance both on the highway

and off. On the road, it helps suppress body roll to enhance cornering

performance. Off road, KDSS relaxes sway control on rough terrain for

increased suspension articulation. This helps tires maintain contact

with the ground on uneven terrain, and minimizes body tilt.

Hill Start Assist Control (HAC)2

From a standing start on an incline, HAC helps prevent the vehicle

from rolling backwards as the driver switches from the brake to the

accelerator. It does so by automatically braking individual wheels as

required. HAC can take much of the stress and strain out of climbing

steep hills, mountains and the like.To view Demos & Videos of Land Cruiser

SKID PLATES

To help protect Land Cruiser’s

front suspension, radiator,

fuel tank and transfer case,

the vehicle is equipped with

reinforced skid plates.

2

RIGID BODY, RIGID FRAME

Land Cruiser’s unitized steel

body is attached to a rock-solid

ladder frame made of high-

tensile-strength steel, and

reinforced by ten steel cross

members. Side-impact door

beams add further rigidity.

3PURPOSE-BUILT STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST

To enhance performance over uneven terrain, the angles on Land

Cruiser’s outer muffler casing have been removed. To increase power,

independent exhaust tubes feed separately into the main muffler rather

than interconnecting, reducing pressure loss.

4

PROVEN SUSPENSION

Land Cruiser is equipped with an independent double-wishbone

front suspension with coil springs and stabilizer bar. The 4-link rear

suspension features coil springs, stabilizer bar and a semi-floating

axle. Trustworthy? You bet. Land Cruiser’s reputation is riding on it.

1

6-SPEED AUTOMATIC

Clutch-to-clutch control gives

Land Cruiser’s 6-speed automatic

Electronically Controlled

Transmission (ECT) a lightweight,

compact design. This improves

performance and increases fuel

efficiency in all conditions.

5MULTI-TERRAIN 4-WHEEL ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS)

ABS sensors detect wheel lockup during emergency braking situations,

and the system helps compensate by “pulsing” individual wheel

brakes. By adapting to off-road conditions such as sand, gravel

or mud, this standard Multi-terrain 4-wheel ABS is ideally suited for

Land Cruiser.

6

TEN AIRBAGS1 AND MORE

Land Cruiser comes with ten

airbags that cover every row

of seats and include driver and

front passenger knee airbags.

The front seats also incorporate

active headrests2 which can help

reduce the severity of whiplash

injuries.

TORSEN®3 LIMITED-SLIP CENTER DIFFERENTIAL

Loss of traction can happen off road and on. This feature, standard on

Land Cruiser, can help make the difference. It effectively helps maintain

vehicle control when certain wheels lose grip — a familiar event off road.

But it also helps with driver control during acceleration and high-speed

driving on pavement. What’s more, the torque distribution in Land

Cruiser’s Torsen® limited-slip center differential has been optimized

from front to rear to enhance cornering performance.

Page 14: 2011 Land Cruiser

How many colors does it come in?Land Cruiser is available in eight exterior colors and two interior colors. But remember,

this is one of the world’s most legendary off-road vehicles. Which means Land Cruiser

also offers a nice dust color, if that’s what you’re looking for.

of the benefits of ABS. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Braking effectiveness also depends on proper brake-system maintenance and tire and road conditions. 19. Smart Stop Technology operates only in the event of certain

simultaneous brake and gas pedal applications. When engaged, the system will reduce engine power to help the brakes bring the vehicle to a stop. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver input can all impact stopping distance.

Smart Stop Technology is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving and does not guarantee instant stopping. Please see your Owner’s Manual for further details. 20. All the airbag (AB) systems are Supplemental Restraint Systems. All

ABs (if installed) are designed to inflate only under certain conditions and in certain types of severe collisions: frontal and knee ABs typically inflate in frontal collisions; side and side curtain ABs in side collisions; Roll-Sensing Curtain ABs at

a severe tilt degree, roll or lateral G-force. In all other accidents, the ABs will not inflate. To decrease the risk of injury from an inflating AB, always wear seatbelts, sit upright in the middle of the seat as far back as possible and do not lean

against the door. Do not put objects in front of an AB or around the seatback. Do not use a rearward-facing child seat in any front passenger seat. The force of an inflating AB may cause serious injury or death. See your Owner’s Manual

for further information/warnings. 21. Active front headrests can help reduce the extent of whiplash in certain types of rear-end collisions. 22. The engine immobilizer is a state-of-the-art anti-theft system. When you insert your key into the

ignition switch or bring a Smart Key fob into the vehicle, the key transmits an electronic code to the vehicle. The engine will only start if the code in the transponder chip inside the key or Smart Key fob matches the code in the vehicle’s

immobilizer. Because the transponder chip is embedded in the key or Smart Key fob, it can be costly to replace. If you lose a key or Smart Key fob, your Toyota dealer can help. Alternatively, you can find a qualified independent locksmith

to perform high-security key services by consulting your local Yellow Pages or by contacting www.aloa.org 23. Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and distribution. 24. Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible,

hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions in your Owner’s Manual. The maximum you can tow depends on the total weight of any

cargo, occupants and available equipment. Calculated with new SAE J2807 method. 25. 2011 EPA-estimated mileage. Actual mileage will vary. 26. This floor mat was designed specifically for use in your model and model year vehicle and

SHOULD NOT be used in any other vehicle. To avoid potential interference with pedal operation, each mat must be secured with retention hooks/clips. Do not install a floor mat on top of an existing floor mat.
