NCD Alliance: What They Do
Use targeted advocacy and outreach to ensure that NCDs are recognized as a major cause of poverty, a barrier to economic development, and a global emergency.
NCD Alliance: Results
• Coalition of 2000 Organizations in 170+ countries
• 92% of countries have a national plan or policies addressing NCDs
• Roadmap for activities through 2020• Incorporation of NCDs in every major
international, regional, and national conversation about public health and policy
NCD Alliance: How they do it• Working with a wide range of partners & organizations• Speaking with a united voice at key international
meetings• Mobilizing the 2000 organizations in their network• Producing the latest policy work on NCDs and building
the evidence base• Convene expert working groups on a range of topics• Pressing governments to recognize that NCDs are a

Goal: End preventable mortality and severe disability from neglected surgical diseases by 2030
Global Targets:
Achieve, by 2030, a minimum of 20-40 licensed SAO provider per 100,000 population
Achieve, by 2030, universal access to essential surgical & anaesthesia care
a. 50% increase in volume of essential surgical & anaesthetic procedures
b. 80% coverage of essential surgical & anaesthesia services
Halve, by 2030, the proportion of people who are pushed into poverty from out of pocket costs from surgical interventions
