Why are you making these pictures?

A reasonable question for sure but the answer changes frequently and for basically three reasons. My framework for making pictures is driven by changing interests, new software application skills/application of multiple processes and what I am trying to achieve--not always known until after a picture is finished. In all areas however, I find that either consciously or unconsciously I am working with an artist(s) or “look” in mind but the end result, happily, is more often than not, something different, an amalgam of choices that creates a slightly new look.

My Process

All of my pictures begin as photographs. I use many photographs from the Internet as I have found that the wide variety of pictures I want to make exceeds my ability to take such pictures locally and would actually exceed my ability to make such pictures anywhere.
