III. SERVICE ACTIVITIESMy clinical service through Pediatrics is approximately 5% time yearly based on each year’s research, service, and teaching obligations. For all years of my clinical service, I have surpassed the 75th percentile for my FTE and met or exceeded all expectations of clinical productivity for my division and department. I have also worked diligently from 2002 to the present to build psychology services over telemedicine in rural and urban areas. In collaboration with other psychologists, I have supported KUMC’s development as one of the most clinically active outpatient psychology over telemedicine programs in the country. I’m particularly proud of advocating for Kansas Medicaid funding for telemedicine services and being one of the first clinics to implement the Medicaid funding policy. As part of clinical services, I coordinate and supervise the clinical activities of psychology graduate students, pediatric residents, and other trainees.
Professional Service: General Description: The telemedicine clinic uses televideo technology to deliver the same mental health evaluation and treatment services offered traditionally face-to-face to families across Kansas. I co-lead an interdisciplinary clinic for youth depression over telemedicine as well as see a range of mental health presentations over televideo from sites across the state. In addition to working with the child and parent/guardian, my clinical team works closely with school faculty and other community members to

Its goal is to enhance and support the use of technology in the delivery of mental health services, and its mission is to promote dialogue between mental health practitioners, to improve the understanding and use of telehealth applications in the delivery of mental health services, and to provide guidance to the ATA Board of Directors regarding telemental health. My focus on the committee has included recruitment and member collaboration.
2004-present Reviewer, Journal of Adolescent Health2005-present Peer Review Panel, American Telemedicine Association convention presentations2005-present KUMC Pediatric Ethics committee member. The KUMC pediatrics committee guides Pediatric

I supervised Jessica on several KU Center for Telemedicine projects, including updating the scheduling database, participating in our statewide Health Information Technology (HIT) summit, and providing youth input on TeleHelper training materials.
2009 Invited participant, Summit on Frontier and Rural Mental Health: Creating Access for Children,September 2009. The summit reviewed rural Kansas needs for child mental health services and consider different outreach strategies, including telehealth, to meet these needs. I contributed written and telephone input concerning telemedicine’s possible role in integrated mental health models.
