FROM THE RABBI
Dear Friends,
Tree of Life began the New Year with some fantastic highlights. January started
with a new Lunch and Learn series featuring the first chapter of National
Geographic’s 50 Most Influential Figures of the Bible, Adam and Eve. Later that
week, Tree of Life welcomed Jack Williams at the second Coffee House event
which has opened the door for hundreds in our community to visit our warm
community. On January 13th and 20th we welcomed two new b’not mitzvah to
the minyan as Zoe Kaplan and Emma Iskhakov were called to the Torah for the
first time.
Just this past weekend, COFTY held its first babysitting night to great effect as
busy parents (including yours truly) were given a four-hour respite from
parenting to enjoy a quiet evening. This was a fantastic idea from our COFTY board. Our Youth Director, Jordan
Henry, and the members of COFTY who volunteered to babysit (many of whom were the Jewdrops) handled their
babysitting responsibilities with flying colors. Given the success of this first outing, I am quite sure that we will
be seeing more babysitting fundraisers (and date-night opportunities) in the near future.
This February, we have a full plate of exciting programming at Tree of Life not to be missed!
Tot Shabbat this Friday, February 2nd @ 6:30pm
