Features

NOTE: Many of the features listed here can be adjusted, enabled or disabled using the remote. Specific directions for these procedures are listed later in this manual.

Toilet

¨ AutomaticFlushing-When enabled, this feature automatically flushes the toilet six seconds after the user stands up or 60 seconds after standing user leaves (when ring is open).

¨ AnimatedFlush- When animated flush is enabled, a graphic will appear on the remote detailing the progress of the flushing process. The toilet arrives with this feature enabled.

¨ FrontMotionSensor- When auto open/close is enabled, the lid may be opened without contact. Activating the motion sensor by moving your foot before the toilet. The sensitivity of the front motion sensor, which opens the lid, can be adjusted using the remote control. The toilet arrives with this feature enabled.

¨ SideMotionSensor- The blue light on the right side of the toilet that is projected on the floor is designed to allow the ring to be raised and lowered without touching the toilet. Break the beam of light using your foot to open or close the ring.

¨ Bidet-Front and rear wash, adjustable position, pressure, water temperature and pulsate, oscillate and wave water action.

¨ Dry-Warm air blows out from the wand, adjustable air temperature and pressure.

¨ HeatedFeet- When activated, warm air emanates from the air outlet to warm the users feet.

¨ Heatedseat- Adjustable seat temperature.

¨ Deodorizer- Embedded deodorizer set.

¨ SleepMode- The toilet can be programmed to conserve energy. The toilet arrives with this feature disabled.

¨ ManualControls- Allows the user to control basic toilet features without the remote control.

Remote Control

¨ RemoteControl- The wireless, touch activated, rechargeable remote control is used to control the toilet.

¨ RemoteControlDockingStation- Wall mounted magnetic dock for the remote. Charges the remote when it is docked.

¨ RemoteControlSleepMode-The remote can be programmed to conserve energy. The toilet arrives with this feature enabled, set for enter sleep after two minutes of no use.

¨ BluetoothDeviceRemoteControlMode-Remote control can be exercised through dedicated Kohler APP via Bluetooth device on Android system.

Lighting

¨ AmbientLight- Located on the two sides of toilet, the ambient lights are available in a multitude of colors. The factory default setting is white.

¨ BowlLight- Located at the end of the bidet wand. This light can be set to be activated when the surrounding is dim. The toilet arrives with this feature enabled.

¨ WelcomeLight-When enabled, the ambient light will automatically turn on when the toilet is activated. The toilet arrives with this feature enabled.

¨ Night Light - The Ambient Light will automatically turn on in low light conditions when this feature is enabled. The toilet arrives with this feature enabled.

Music and Sounds

¨ Music -The toilet is equipped with FM radio, background music and music player. User can choose to play audios from an external source or files saved in the Bluetooth device or the SD card.

¨ WelcomeMusic-When enabled, welcome music will play upon activation of the toilet. The toilet arrives with this feature enabled.

¨ KeySounds-When enabled, sounds will help indicate the activation of some toilet functions.

¨ AuxIn-Any type of standard auxiliary music player can be connected to one of the two locations on the docking station or the back of the toilet through the presented aux-in cable. Music from the player can be played on the toilet.

¨ Bluetooth-User can play audio files via Bluetooth device. MP3 files can be transmitted to SD card in the machine via Bluetooth device with Kohler APP installed.

¨ SDcard-This machine can support mainstream brand SD card with maximum capacity of 16G.

NOTE: Kohler is not responsible for the damage or loss of any data in the SD card.

Cleaning

¨ AutomaticUVWandCleaning-UV wand cleaning can be programmed using your remote. This feature comes enabled, scheduled to occur at 2 am every day.

Emergency Flush

¨ BackupPower-When AC power fails, Press and hold the flush button on the side panel for over 3 seconds to enable emergency flush.

¨ PowerButton-Turns the power on and off.

NOTE: Press the power button to shut down the toilet. The remote controller connected with the toilet will shut down, too. When the toilet is powered on again, the remote control will start up if put on dock.

¨ AuxiliaryInput-Plug in any standard external music source to play the music through the speakers.

¨ Deodorizer-The deodorizer reduces or eliminated unpleasant smells. When enabled it is activated when the user sits down.

¨ Speakers-Internal speakers.

¨ SupplyHose-Water supply hose.

¨ AirFilter-Filters air before it enters the blower for the bidet dryer and heated feet option. The filter should be cleaned periodically.

Flushing Your Toilet

IMPORTANT! The flush for your toilet is unique. It is a two stage flush designed for superior performance while using a small amount of water. It will seem as if your toilet is flushing twice. This is proper operation.

NOTE: When you receive your toilet, it is set to flush automatically. The toilet will flush automatically after each use. The toilet will determine the appropriate flush type (flush-eco or flush-full) automatically. Refer to the “Setting - Auto Open, Auto Flush, Deodorizer″ section for instructions on enabling or disabling the auto flush feature.

NOTE: There are two flushing options. The [flush-eco] option uses 0.6 (2.3 l) gallons of water and is intended for liquid removal. The [flush-full] option uses 1.28 (4.8 l) gallons of water and is intended for solid waste removal.

¨ For liquid waste remove, select [flush-eco]. The flush takes approximately 30 seconds.¨ For solid waste removal, select [flush-full]. The flush takes approximately 45 seconds. There is a first-stage flush, the bowl is partially refilled, and a second stage flush takes place.

Emergency Flush

When AC power fails, Press and hold the flush button on the side panel for over 3 seconds to enable emergency flush.

Using the Bidet Functions

Using the Front Bidet Wash¨ Select [front].¨ Select [on] to activate the front wash feature.¨ Move the [pressure] scroll bar up or down to adjust the water pressure.¨ Move the [position] scroll bar up or down to adjust the wand position.¨ Move the [temp.] scroll bar up or down to adjust the water temperature.¨ Select [off] or leave the toilet to stop this feature.

NOTE: The front wash will stop automatically in 2 minutes. For pulsate, oscillate and wave water action, please follow the steps for “Adjusting the Spray” below.

Using the Rear Bidet Wash¨ Select [rear].¨ Select [on] to activate the rear wash feature.¨ Move the [pressure] scroll bar up or down to adjust the water pressure.¨ Move the [position] scroll bar up or down to adjust the wand position.¨ Move the [temp.] scroll bar up or down to adjust the water temperature.¨ Select [off] or stand up when done.

NOTE: The rear wash will stop automatically in 2 minutes. For pulsate, oscillate and wave water action, please follow the steps for “Adjusting the Spray” below.

Adjusting the Spray

NOTE: When the bidet wand is oscillating, it may come in contact with the user. The user can sit further forward to avoid their contact.

NOTE: When pulsate is selected, the bidet wand is stationary and the water emitted from the bidet wand pulses. When oscillate is selected, the bidet wand moves while a steady stream of water is emitted.

¨ Select [front] or [rear].¨ Select [options].

NOTE: When [wave] is selected, the water will pulsate and oscillate simultaneously.¨ Select [pulsate] , [oscillate] or [wave].

Using the Dryer¨ Select [dryer].¨ Select [on] to activate the dryer feature.¨ Move the [pressure] scroll bar up or down to adjust the air pressure.¨ Move the [temp.] scroll bar up or down to adjust the air temperature.¨ Select [off] or stand up when done.

NOTE: The heater will stop automatically in 4 minutes.

Using the Music Function

Playing the Radio¨ Select [music].¨ Use the up or down arrows an FM radio station. Holding or pressing arrow key will make it convert to increasing or decreasing frequency rapidly.¨ To scan for radio stations, select [scan]. To scan frequency up press the up arrow then select [scan]. To scan frequency down select the down icon then press [scan].¨ To save the station as a preset, hold one of the three preset buttons (labeled [1], [2], or [3] ) down for three seconds and select [yes] on the pop-up window.¨ To adjust the volume, move the volume scroll bar up or down.

Play an External Audio¨ Select [music].¨ Select [aux].

¨ Select button to play an external audio source.

NOTE: A music player utilizing any standard format can be used. An external audio source can be connected to the base of the remote control or the external audio source input jack on the back of toilet through audio line.

¨ Select button to play the music in the Bluetooth device.

¨ Select numi button to play the background music preinstalled.

¨ Select [on].

¨ Select [muxic].

button to randomly playback music in the SD card.

NOTE: For best results, please set the volume of external player at medium level.

Adjusting the Bass, Treble and Balance

¨ Select [music].¨ Select the [radio], [aux], or [SD] tab.¨ Select [options].¨ Select [toilet] for the internal speakers or [external] for external speakers.¨ To adjust the desired acoustic effect, move the bass or treble scroll bar up or down.¨ To adjust the balance of left and right channel, move the balance scroll bar up or down.

Using the Heating and Lighting Functions

NOTE: When the scroll bar is at its lowest position, the feature will turn off. When the scroll bar is moved upward, the feature will activate.

Using the Heated Seat and Heated Feet¨ Select [heating].¨ Move the scroll bar for the [heated seat] option up to activate it.

NOTE: If the [heated seat] is left on, it will continuously keep the seat warm unless [power save] mode is activated.¨ Move the scroll bar for the [heated seat] option up to activate it.

NOTE: Heated Feet feature will automatically time out after 15 minutes if no operation on it. ¨ To stop either feature, move the scroll bar all the way down.

Using the Ambient Light

NOTE: The ambient light is located on the back panels of the toilet. The lights will automatically come on in low-light conditions when [night light] is activated in the features.

¨ Select [lighting].¨ Select [ambient light].¨ Select [default color] to set default color by choosing from “light color square”.¨ Select [by date] to set color for each day of the week.¨ Select [dynamic] to change the color of ambient lighting (8 in total) every 10 seconds.

Using the Brightness¨ Select [lighting].¨ Select [brightness].¨ Move the [bowl light] scroll bar to adjust the brightness of bowl lighting.¨ Move the [ambient light] scroll bar to adjust the brightness of ambient lighting.

NOTE: Located at the end of the bidet wand. This light can be set to be activated when the surrounding is dim.

¨ Move the scroll bar all the way down to disable this adjustment feature.

Low Battery Warning for Backup Batteries

¨ Under normal power supply, when the machine detects that the backup battery is running low, a message will display to remind to replace batteries.¨ Press [OK] to close the window and replace the batteries in time.

NOTE: The message box will appear again only when the remote control is rebooted or re-paired with the toilet.

Creating a New User Profile

¨ Select [users].

NOTE: Unused profiles will not have a highlighted icons next to the profile.

¨ Select a user profile (user 1-6) that is not in use by touching it or selecting [save as] and selecting the appropriate radio button.¨ Select the radio button for your desired options. A check will appear in the radio button when it is selected.

Manual Operation

The basic functions of the toilet can be controlled manually using the buttons located on the right side of toilet.

¨ LidandRing- The lid and ring can be lifted manually to open and close them. Lift the lid and ring to open them.

¨ Flushing- Push the flush button to flush the toilet manually.

NOTE: When AC power fails, press the flush button for more than three seconds to flush.

¨ FrontWash- Push the front wash button to activate the bidet wand for front wash.

¨ RearWash- Push the rear wash button to activate the bidet wand for rear wash.

NOTE: When the bidet features are activated using the manual buttons, they will default to the middle temperature, pressure, and position settings.

Servicing the DeodorizerNOTE: This procedure should be performed when the deodorizer no longer achieves the desired effect.¨ Remove the deodorizer cartridge by grasping it and gently pulling it out.¨ Insert the new deodorizer cartridge.

Servicing the Inlet ScreenNOTE: This procedure should be performed once every six months.¨ Turn off the water at the water supply stop or main water supply if the supply stop is not accessible.¨ Remove the back cover (not shown) if installed.¨ Remove the clip securing the water supply hose to the water inlet.¨ Remove the hose from the water supply inlet.¨ Use a ″L″ shaped or needle nose pliers to remove the inlet screen from the water inlet.¨ Clean all hard water deposits and other material from the inlet screen.

Servicing the Bidet Wand Spray Tip

NOTE: The bidet wand spray tip can become clogged with mineral deposits from the water. It should be cleaned periodically. The amount of times between each cleaning will depend upon water quality. If performance is poor, the spray tip should be cleaned.

¨ Select [settings].¨ Select [cleaning].¨ Select [manual clean].¨ Select [extend wand]. The bidet wand will extend.¨ Manually clean the bidet wand.¨ Remove the bidet wand spray tip by inserting a small thin object into the hole on the underside of the wand pushing the spray tip up.¨ Inspect the spray tip. If there is mineral buildup in the spray tip, remove the minerals by soaking it a cleaning solution until the minerals are gone.¨ Remove any mineral deposits from the spray tip opening in the bidet wand.¨ Replace the spray tip if needed.¨ Reinstall the spray tip once it is clean or install a new spray tip. Make sure the tip is flush with the surrounding surfaces on the wand. If the spray tip is not flush, it may be damaged or stick as the wand retracts.¨ Select [close] when the cleaning is complete.¨ Select [home] to return to the main screen or [back] to return to the previous screen.

For best results, keep the following in mind when caring for your KOHLER product:

• Always test your cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area before applying to the entire surface.• Wipe surfaces clean and rinse completely with water immediately after applying cleaner. NOTE: When the remote control is not in use, it will fall into sleep mode. Press touch the remote control screen to activate the remote control.

NOTE: If the back light is off, the first touch on the remote control screen activates the light. The second touch activates the function.

Start-up

¨ When the toilet is first installed or the power fails, when power is restored or turned on; the toilet will automatically go into start-up mode.¨ If the toilet does not function correctly upon completing the start-up sequence, or it fails to start, contact customer service using the numbers located on back cover of this manual.

Blockage

¨ To clear the toilet when there is a blockage, a standard plunger* with an insert works best.¨ If a blockage requires the use of a snake*, use the remote control to open the valve before using the snake. Close the valve when the blockage is cleared.

Small Children

¨ The auto flush and bidet features require a sensor located under the seat to be activated. Small children may not be tall enough (approximately 122cm) to activate the sensor. The bidet and autoflush features will not function correctly when this sensor has not been activated.

B. User is a small child. A. The automatic flush feature requires a sensor in the ring to be activated. Children less than 122 cm (48”) may not activate this sensor. Flush the toilet using the remote control.

4. There is no water flow to the toilet.

A. Water supply is not turned on. A. Turn on the main water supply.

5. The toilet flushes unexpectedly.

To disable the automatic flush, on the remote control select; [settings] > [feature settings] > [flushing] > [auto flush]. The check mark and [auto flush] will appear grey when the feature is disabled.

B. The overflow sensor is activated. A. No action is needed if occurrence of the toilet flushing by itself is isolated. When the overflow sensor is activated it will automatically flush the toilet to lower the water level.

6. The water level in the bowl is too high.

A. The toilet has a blockage. A. Perform the steps in the blockage troubleshooting sequence.

7. There is no water in the bowl or the water slowly dissipates.

A. The water has evaporated when there is extended period of time between uses.

A. Flush the toilet to refill the bowl.

B. There is a blockage that does not allow the trapway valve to close all the way.

A. Use the remote control to open and close the trapway valve several times by selecting; [settings] > [cleaning] > [manual clean] > [open bowl valve] > [close] repeatedly.

B. Open the trapway valve manually using the remote control; select [settings] > [cleaning] > [manual clean] > [open bowl valve]. Use a plunger to remove the blockage. For extreme blockage, a snake may be used.

Lid and Ring Troubleshooting


1. Lid strikes back wall when opening.

A. Flange rough-in is too close to the wall. Rough-in should be minimum of 11-3/4” (29.8 cm).

A. Adjust the finished wall or flange to an 11-3/4 (29.8 cm) or greater rough-in.


2. Lid and/or cover does not open automatically.

A. Auto open feature is disabled. A. Use the remote control to enable the feature by selecting; [settings] > [feature settings] > [auto open close] > and [near], [medium] or [far].

B. Motion sensor is not set with the correct sensitivity level.

A. Use the remote control to select the level of sensitivity by selecting; [settings] > [feature settings] > [auto open close] > and [near], [medium] or [far].


3. Lid sways when it reaches the full open position.

A. Some lid sway is normal. A. No action required for minimal lid sway.


4. Ring fails to open when side sensor is activated.

A. Auto open feature is disabled. A. Use the remote control to enable the feature by selecting; [settings] > [feature settings] > [auto open close] > and [near], [medium] or [far].

B. Side sensor lens is blocked or dirty.

A. Clean all dirt or debris away from the sensor lens. The lens is located on the right side of the base of the toilet near the middle.

5. Lid and/or ring raises when it should not.

A. Sensor sensitivity is set too high. A. Use the remote control to select the level of sensitivity by selecting; [settings] > [feature settings] > [auto open close] > and [near], [medium] or [far].

B. There is an object in the hinge area of the lid.

A. There is a sensor located in the hinge to avoid pinching. Remove any objects from the hinge area.

Bidet Troubleshooting


1. Bidet wand fails to fully retract.

A. Cleaning cycle of bidet use was interrupted.

A. Retract the bidet using the remote control by selecting; [settings] > [cleaning] > [manual clean] > [extend wand] > [close].

B. The bidet wand spray tip is not installed correctly.

A. Reinstall the bidet wand spray tip following the servicing instructions in this document.


2. The bowl light, located in the tip of the bidet wand, does not work.

A. The bowl light feature is not enabled.

A. Enable the light using the remote control by selecting; [settings] > [feature settings]> [lighting] > [bowl light].

3. Bidet wand partially retracts, hesitates, then fully retracts.

A. This is proper operation. When the bidet wand hesitates it’s being rinsed off, then it fully retracts.

A. No action needed.

4. Bidet wand moves erratically or stops.

A. The bidet wand movement was interrupted unexpectedly.

A. Press and hold the power button on the back of the toilet, for 2 seconds, to restart the system.


5. Bidet dryer air is too hot.

A. Temperature is set too high. Lower the temperature.

A. Lower the dryer air temperature using the remote control by selecting; [dryer] > and moving the [temp.] scroll bar lower.


6. Bidet dryer does not start immediately.

A. The wand has not completed retracting after the bidet wash cycle has been completed.

A. There is a brief delay while the wand fully retracts, then extends again for the dryer cycle.

7. Bidet wand fails to extend, bidet functions cannot be enabled.

A. The user is a small child. A. The bidet functions require a sensor in the ring to be activated. Children less than 48″ (122 cm) may not activate this sensor. Flush the toilet using the remote.

B. The bidet wand is malfunctioning.

A. Press and hold the power button on the back of the toilet, for 2 seconds, to restart the system.

Remote Control Troubleshooting


1. The remote control does not have power. Screen is black and does not respond to touches.

A. The remote control is not charged.

A. Attach the remote control to the docking station and allow it to charge.

B. Docking station is not connected to the toilet.

A. Connect the docking station to the back panel of the toilet.

C. The remote control has frozen unexpectedly.

A. Using a pen or similar item, push the reset button on the back of the remote control.


2. The remote control is on, but the toilet fails to respond.

A. The remote control and toilet are not connected.

A. Something (towel, metal object, etc.) is blocking the remote control signal. Remove any obstacles between the remote control and toilet.

B. Remote control is out of connection range of the toilet. Move the remote control closer to the toilet.

C. Press and hold the power button on the back of the toilet, for 2 seconds, to restart the system.

D. Using a pen or similar item, push the reset button on the back of the remote control.

E. Reconnect the toilet using the remote control and selecting; [settings] > [maintenance] > [learn remote control], then following the directions on the remote control screen.

F. Call the Customer Care Center using the information provided at the back cover.

3. Graphic appears or does not appear when the toilet is flushing.

A. The flushing graphic is enabled or disabled.

A. Disable the flushing graphic using the remote control and selecting; [settings] > [feature settings] > [flushing] > [animated flush]. The check mark and [animated flush] will appear grey when the feature is disabled.

B. Using a pen, push the reset button on the back of the remote control.

C. Call the Customer Care Center using the information provided at the back cover.

4. The remote control is frozen and will not work.

A. When different options are selected rapidly before the previous selection is complete, it may cause the remote control to freeze.

A. Using a pen, push the reset button on the back of the remote control.

1. There is no power to the toilet.

A. Toilet is not plugged in or the GFCI is tripped.

A. Plug in the toilet or confirm the GFCI has not been tripped.

2. Toilet beeps when unplugged or plugged in.

A. This is normal operation. A. No action needed.

3. Remote control pops up “Check/Replace Back Up Batteries and Restart System”.


4. Emergency flush does not work upon power failure. The buzzer beeps twice.


5. Emergency flush does not work upon power failure.

A. Backup batteries are not installed.

A. Insert new batteries.

B. Backup batteries are dead. A. Replace with new batteries.

Lights Troubleshooting


1. Back panel lights do not illuminate.

A. Light is not activated. A. Activate the light using the remote control by adjusting: [lighting] > [ambient light]

B. The environment is very bright. A. No action needed.



3. There is an unexpected light blinking at night.

A. The light is the UV cleaning indicator. It means the UV cleaning cycle is in process.

A. No action needed.

4. The welcome light and/ or night light are not lit.

A. The welcome light and/or night light are not enabled.

A. Using the remote control, enable the lights by selecting: [settings] > [feature settings] > [lighting] and then enabling the desired features by selecting the corresponding radio button.

Music and Sounds Troubleshooting


1. Music will not play. A. External speaker are selected, but there are no external speakers connected.

A. Using the remote control, change the speakers setting by selecting: [music] > [options] > [toilet]

B. Volume scroll bar is dragged all the way down.

A. Using the remote control, adjust the volume setting by selecting: [music] > [Numi] or [aux] and adjust the [volume] scroll bar up.

2. External player silence. A. External player volume down to a minimum or in “mute” state.

A. Open the volume of external player or release “mute” state.

B. External audio source mode is not activated.

A. Using the remote control to activate the aux mode: [music] > [aux] > > [on] and adjust the [volume] scroll bar up.

3. External player sound quality is not good.

A. External player sound quality is not good.

A. Change the external player.

B. When selected as the source of welcome music, the SD card is either incorrectly inserted or void of MP3 audio.

A. Make sure the card is properly inserted and loaded with music in MP3 format.
