The Part 1 of this series of document (KOC-MP-033) covers "Ball Valves". Other types such as gate, globe, check and butterfly valves are covered in subsequent Parts under the same document number. This KOC Standard supplements the requirements of API 60 IIS014313, ASME B16.34, ISO 17292, MSS SP-72, and MSS SP-11 0 as applicable.
This Standard has been approved by the Standards Team, in consultation with the Standards Technical Committee (STC) for consistent use throughout the corporate engineering and operational facilities of Kuwait Oil Comp~ny.
This Standard sets out to achieve the following objectives:
)- To specify the minimum technical requirements for Design, Material of Construction-of- Ball-Valves- that-has- vast- and- significant application in KOC facilities and installations, with a view to achieve quality, reliability, efficiency & performance with cost effective approach.
)- To establish the necessary aspects of Inspection and Testing reqUirements of Ball Valves so as to minimize the need for technical clarifications and disputes.
)- To maintain the KOC requirements of safety, protection, and integrity of KOC piping, plant & equipment, personnel and environment as established by KOC Fire and Safety Regulations, and Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS) and HSE Policy.
)0 To augment comprehensively all aspects of design, construction, and testing necessarily required by Kuwait Oil Company.
