Volume XXXVIII Number 9 May 26, 2015 Kings Highway Christian When I was in elementary school I used to love when a new kid would join my class. It was exciting because no one knew what special gifts or talents this person might bring to the group. Maybe he or she would know some great new games to play during recess. Maybe the new kid would be funny or would bring really good cupcakes when his or her birthday rolled around. Of course there was always the possibility that the new kid would be a bully or a tattletale, but it seemed to me that just about every new kid had some gift or talent that made the class a little better than it had been before. One part of the ministry that I particularly love is the chance I have every week to meet new people. Just about every Sunday there are first-time guests in our worship services. When you meet someone here at church you know right away that you have something important in common with him or her, the desire to spend time on Sunday morning worshiping God. Every introduction at church can also feel sacred because it could be the beginning of a church friendship that lasts many years and touches your life in countless ways. In the coming week I hope you will invite a friend or neighbor (or if you are particularly daring, a stranger) to join us for worship here at Kings Highway Christian Church for our Bring a Friend to Church Sunday on June 7th. I also hope that on June 7 th , and on every Sunday, you will look forward to meeting and greeting the guests we will have with us. Or, as I say to my children, Elizabeth and William, on the first day of school, “Make sure to be really nice to the new kids.” In the meantime, make good choices, love everyone, and look forward to tomorrow, David FROM THEMinister

Kings Highway Christian

When I was in elementary school I used to love when a new kid would join my class.

I also hope that on June 7th, and on every Sunday, you will look forward to meeting and greeting the guests we will have with us. Or, as I say to my children, Elizabeth and William, on the first day of school, “Make sure to be really nice to the new kids.”

In the meantime, make good choices, love everyone, and look forward to tomorrow,

David

Celebrations

We celebrate with Jeff & Lynsie Foster the birth of their baby girl Millie. All the family, including big brother John, is doing well. Welcome Millie! We celebrate the return of P.J. Rocks to worship the last two Sundays following his time away receiving treatments at M.D. Anderson in Houston. It is wonderful having P.J. and Linda back with us. We celebrate the continuing recovery for Lessie Hawkins (Friend of Linda DeMann) from an automobile accident, and we are grateful that her injuries were not more serious. .

MAY: BIBLE STUDY AND SEEKERS CLASSES

JUNE: Pathfinders Class

Dear KHCC,

Once again you have shown me just how wonderful it is to have such a loving and caring church

family. All of the calls, cards, delicious food, hugs and prayers have truly helped me and my family

through the difficult time. Bill loved KHCC and really missed being able to attend. Thank you all for

everything.

Blessings,

Kay

Dear KHCC,

Josh & I wanted to thank ya’ll for allowing us to have our wedding shower in the parlor. Everything

was so beautiful. We feel so blessed to have had so many church friends and family come out to

celebrate with us for our upcoming union into marriage.

Thank you again for everything,

Josh & Rebecca Wells
