• Brought up in New York
• He was fascinated by art , Studied it religiously from a very young age
• His career kickstarted in 1954

• Contemporary Designers such as Josef Albers and Herbert Bayer
• European/Swiss Style ‘International Typography’ (Clean writings)
What Set Him Apart
Saul Bass treated a title sequence like a poster - Where the designer:
• Finds a Metaphor
• Finds a symbol
And visually executing it in an effective, artistic way.
This was his Innovation
His Work - a combination of Minimalistic, Modern art with elements of Kinetic Typography to show a Story unfold. Presented in a stunning
way and drawing the audience. Whilst setting the general mood of the film.
