SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Make sure that the towbar is suitable for the vehicle before starting the installation.

For safety, all work involving towbar installation (incl. electrical components) must be undertaken by skilled technicians.

Damaged components must be replaced with manufacturer’s spares and fitted by qualified staff.

It is forbidden to make any modification or structural repair to towing assembly.

The towball must be kept clean and lubricated. For added safety, his diameter (50 mm) must be checked at regular intervals. If the towball measures less than 49 mm after selected readings across the diameter, the towball must be replaced with a new one.

After 1000 km of towing, check torque settings for nuts and bolts, in accordance with the table.

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

Remove any mastic from contact points then paint with anti-rust paint. The holes to fit the tow bar are already existing.

• Remove spare wheel, remove bumper and discard bumper beam;ONLY FOR KIA SORENTO RESTYLING 2006: cut bumper beam's support as shown;

• ONLY FOR KIA SORENTO RESTYLING 2006: raise boot covering and remove plastic box; remove as well plastic box on left side;

• Locate cross-bar “C” between two chassis-rails, referring to holes “05” and fix;• Locate items “A” and “B” referring to holes “02” on cross-bar “C” and to holes “01”

of chassis rails and fix;• Tighten all bolts and nuts as per torque settings;• Connect the wirings to the socket;• Cut an opening on the bumper as shown;• Re-fit bumper fixing it on cross-bar “C” in position “04; re-fit spare wheel;

ONLY FOR KIA SORENTO RESTYLING 2006: locate item “D” (holes distance positions “04”; fix bumper on items “D” and “E”.

• Re-fit plastic boxes into the boot.
